When installing IEBC what to do with factory solenoid

When installing IEBC what to do with factory solenoid?

If I unplug the factory cables the engine won't run (obviously). So the question is..

1/ Do I use a second solenoid with IEBC and just unplug hoses from original?

2/ Do I use a resistor in place of the original to trick ecu and then run IEBC to factory solenoid?

Ideas?

Leave it plugged in electrically, but plumb the hoses to the EBC's solenoid.

That's what i was thinking as a resistor might play with mapping and fuel ratios etc.

I've got a second solenoid to stick under the bonnet.

BTW it's a jay-car programmable one, so I'll keep you posted on the progress once installed. It's been in the desk drawer for 6 months. Now I've got a work car I can start playing with the foz again

i was more thinking of a way of removing this eyesore....

So check the resistance of it, rock off to Jaycar and get a suitable resistor.

but wouldn't the resistance change under normal use so the ecu will get confused and throw a CEL?

If not then easy as. And the WOF guy's probably won't notice

Spose not, it's just a coil with a bit of metal inside. I was thinking more of like a motor.

Thought it was wof things as the guys pulled up floor mats to check ecu cables for links/iebc's once before

VTNZ albany. Was checking all the vac lines from the wastegate etc.

And this is a stock, usually muddy foz too, not the usual slammed 20inch rimmed variety.

They are not allowed to "remove" anything in a wof check I believe and that would include lifting carpets,

also where the vac hoses goes,whether it has an aftermarket ECU or a Boost controller is none of their business and not part of a Wof check

Either take it someplace else or sit there and ask questions .... And then complain to the manager in writing....

They are being arses
