Boost Plumbing v2

Recommended Posts

On my v2 wrx it has 3 port solenoid everythings plumbed correctly but

because it has a aftermarket fat tank the bottom boost line (off the boost solenoid the 3 port one) usually plumbs back into the fat tank. it has nowhere to plug into and is just venting in engine bay. is this ok?

or do i need to plumb it some how

hmm have noticed car is a little hesitant on boost at full load.

Ive cleaned AFM. checked for leaks seems everythings good.

although the factory bov had been venting to atmosphere (and was leaking chronically) cause the black pipe was stuffed but since then ive replaced it and plumbed it back in.

No CELS

With plugs the numbers at the end tell you the gap

For example BKR6E-11 means a 1.1mm gap, BKR6E-8 means a 0.8mm gap (means you dont need to try and gap them yourself - I just tap it gently with a hammer haha)

Bascially - smaller gap means less chance of spark blowing out with boost (easier for coil to arc and create a spark) but wider gap in theory means a better ignition, smoother running

TL;DR - 0.8mm should be fine and normal copper plugs are all you need, iridiums or whatever are a waste of cash unless you are changing plugs every 5 thou

soooo new plugs and replaced a coil and shes running good accelerates nice no hesitation..

then it came it hesitated and i held my foot down and it dissapeared.

so it comes and goes now.

also had a slight problem this morning went to out for a drive started nicely before went to jay car to get some wire came back out and car wouldnt start.

it would just wind over wanting to but not firing.

took sometime of tryna turn it over and finally started.

LOL.

MY best guess would now be to change fuel pump next lol that and fuel filter

Yeah get a walboro for future proofing, even if you don\'t do much with the motor at least you know you won\'t run out of fuel.

Recheck the plugs and see if they\'re black as fuck, sounds like fouled plugs when it won\'t start like that. A few times i\'ve fouled plugs, replaced them and fouled them straight away again it\'s weird

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
