  1. Exhaust! Expect the std bov to die within months of any breathing upgrades though... Tyres next, they are a well planted car by nature but as I\'m sure you\'ve found you can find yourself dealing with \'sudden chunks of power\' so keep it sticky
  2. $600 will be for aftermarket parts. Pay the $$ and get genuine parts and seals - you get what you pay for Last $600 cam job I got cost me a new engine...
  3. I had to buy a house as well... Plus I like to haul things around in my car other than just people so a sedan doesn\'t cut it
  4. LOL sensible eh! The bugeye is really wobbly and twitchy compared to the trusty BG5 (to the point that her indoors is a bit hesitant to drive it!) so sorting that gets top priority. Plus that gives me a few more months to figure out how to get the best of the single turbo after years of driving the twin spooler
  5. Makes sense Go faster stuff can wait till I\'m copacetic with the stopping and handling and ready to deal with bonnet/scoops etc.
  6. v7 STi appear to have a bigger bonnet scoop, is that purely decorative or required to get the best from the larger ic?
  7. Hmmm now I feel semi literate... Genome STi axle back secured, splashing out on some on special Momo goodies as it appears they are abandoning NZ Yeah I looked at buying boon\'s v7 STi suspension but they were sedan type so off the shopping list alas, have found a suitable donor car at Sub A Roo in the Tron so I\'ll pillage the tasty bits that are left on that as the budget permits ;D
  8. Whatever will fit easy on the break selection, that would be \'std\' STi I take it?
  9. Picked up a totally stock v7 WRX wagon late last year, how much v7 STi kit will bolt straight on? Apart from shoving the 17\'s from the Legacy on (the wee bugeye is a bit rolly polly twitchy compared to the GT!) I\'m thinking STi brakes, suspension and intercooler for this years upgrades. Easy or not?
  10. Crank angle sensor? Will turn over till the battery is flat...
  11. http://www.carthrottle.com/toyota-gt86-shooting-brake-the-86-youll-never-admit-to-wanting/
  12. Typical, I move out and all the fun starts
  13. Replace Hardest part of the job is getting all the air out when you refill the coolant
  14. air con schmaircon, just want the green stuff to stay inside the cooling system!
  15. Ya gotta shout out when good folk like yourself pass on the wisdom, its like putting back tools you borrow etc. all part of keeping the karmic flow aligned BG might be going on the back burner for a while, have my eye on a couple of bugeye wagons. You know anyone in the Hawkes Bay for pre purchase look over?
  16. Cheers JoKer, the source of much wisdom as usual
  17. Cant track it down... : Only starts when shes\' up to temp, no loss of power, doesn\'t overheat, good and steamy with a little puddle as she cools off though. Have the sump guard off, no leaks at the front it appears to be coming from the passenger side middle/rear of the engine bay somewhere Thoughts?
  18. Thats why I like the TT, you have to \'drive\' it rather than just throwing your foot to the floor and holding on (and the look of surprise on peoples faces when a 20 yr old station wagon monsters them in the passing lane)
  19. Pull off the sump guard and figure out exactly where is coming from, if you are lucky it may be a reused hose giving up.
  20. Yeah some good coverage on their farcebook page, they killed the stock brake pads in 3000Km... Usual story, bit light on go but a great package for a stock road car. Brakes and tyres first to get upgraded then more power
  21. Its a bit dodgy, someone forgot a 0 between entries on my BG, goes from 100k ish km down to 10k km then back into the 100k km between warrants ;D
  22. Great upgrade, that electric drivers side seat weighs a ton! You will need \'non electric\' seat rails for the drivers side though
