Question
Have a v3 sti and running a 6s ecu.
Have just brought a chipped profec b ecu and wanting to plug it in tonight.
Can i just remove old one and plug in?
Anything to watch out for?
Reset anything?
Have now put ecu in.
Car runs really rough like its hunting for idle and is only running on like 3
Any ideas? Have opened both ecu and theyre completely different
The one at rear doesnt need to be removed just leave that one in so the tray stays in place u can jus push down very slightly and surround will go over it
i have a v3 sti running a 6s ecu.
since these are not tuneable.
can i re wire in a v7 sti ecu? and if i can am i able to use all the standard sensors that i am running already with the v3.
would like to wire it in so i can then tune it. or reflash it.
any help and input much appreciated
Righto after many an install (especially nissans for some reason) this is what i have found. Make sure the amp is not placed by any part of computer in boot if your going to screw amp to floor paneling screw it to mdf then screw that to floor ( no carpet in between) when finding a ground if you dont use spear tyre well use that point or a seat belt point. BUT u must sand paper the paint and crap off connection as much as possible and make it clean as u can. Use full length wiring rather than joins and always make sure ground and power wiring is as big as possible. I prefer to use 4 awg but then u get awsm amps made by reputable brands and they give you this tiny bloody hole to try and screw a massive wire into! Not cool!
Sitting at vehicle testing now jus asked the fella. Anything that alters the power output of car from oem more than 10% must have a lvv inspection done. Thus includes a wrx getting an sti turbo! If it changes the output by more tgan 10%
U can buy a harness for it but if i remember correctly directly under steeringwheel there is a 4 plug connection. Think its red white blue and yellow. Disconnect and put those four wires into timer
