  1. 495 + gst for the whole job or just labour or what? could you be a little more specific
  2. might sound stupd at frist but the MVS tials come with several ports to screw your boost fitting into in the side (for bottom of diaphram) and then come with several hex key bungs.. U installed the bungs in the ports not being used on the bottom section of the gate ae???? or yr boost will be goen str8 bak out again resulting in free boost or there abouts lol. thats my 5 cents if none of the above is wrong with yr gate (doubt cus its new) or yr boost controller hasnt magicly shat itself or split boost line to the gate/from pressure source.
  3. i emaild them to him anyway lol. and he wanted to know a little about the car :-X . thanks
  4. ive done it. just not using a factory intake pipe but their IS room. I used a short stright 2.25" stainless pipe and then a 2.25" to 3" 90deg reducing bend. workd mint as. would be just easier to use a silicone bend off the turbo intake tho when wanting to use a str8 inlet inlet turbo. as ither way your going to have to plum yr IACV back in if your no longer running the P link (that part gets annoying).
  5. +1, thats thin. wont get into an aregument hea lol but i def dont and wouldnt use 30 weight oil in my subaru (definitly like castrol and thats all I use tho so not hating on them at all)
  6. Qwerty has them via email, my computer skills are limited lol
  7. done .Goen back again with a few issues sorted in the next couple weeks with abit of luck lol so hopfuly ive got a tad of improving to do
  8. Haha nah, my reading went lower the higher the PSI went, I think peak was on about 18. What it needs is an exhaust upgrade (acquired, but not put on yet) and an ECU reflash (planned for a couple months time). Lol fast as I think i might put my run up but dont wna bump u off lol
  9. i got a spare slave cly...
  10. nope lol ive seen so many different ones its not funny :-\
  11. my gearbox lasted about 30 mins after my dyno on 280 odd wkw. stripped 3rd gear. I was smart (well thought I was) because I never shocked the box or nada. put it in 3rd on way home and brought it up to about 4000rpm than pushed my foot down and BANG it went! was using a 8 bolt TY753VB1AA forester box at the time. was only a short term replacement to tune the car and then move to 6 spd but expected abit more then 30mins without launces/banging gears.
  12. worth checking that the charcole canister hose hasnt come off the steel pipe in the passengers back corner of the engine bay befor u go on a giant mission lol. Its the one that comes thru with the fuel lines but its slightly smaller. Ive had that come off in the past and stinks like fuel. then as mentioned befor the heater intake isant far away and sucks in the vapour. (mine did that too with the heater). wasnt so bad on the recirculat mode for obvious reasons so u could try that too). Just rather try this then pull the mani off for nothing. Could still be the mani issue as posted earlier but this is 1000X easier to try this 1st ;D
  13. Yeah ither way the gate is going to close when you take your foot off the gas. (spring pressure) as mentioned above swap the hoses over Gate one and gauge one and shud be fine. The flutter is coming from the pressure chages in that boost hosee (turbo outlet) due to the bov not opening correctly or cant flow enough air. You wont get the flutter through the gauge when you swap the hoes over cus the throttle butterfly will block the pressure changes and ul just get a nice vac reading (wich is correct). And the wastegate doesnt need vacume so it will be happy just coming off that pressure hose where your gauges is in the first pic.
  14. not too familiar with the autos but thoes cars run a TD04L turbo and are pretty tough, havent seen many of the the later stright snout (like yrs) fail if any. Still a possibility tho but in my experence doubt it. Ive had ones with loose top mount y pipe bolts and hose clamps make funny noises on boost! does it do it when NOT giving it abit of boot just crusing and very light acceleration?

    dsr turbo

Thats ture but the motor will just perform like a "stock" but stronger engine, No cams, No larger valves or ports, mad comp ratio ect. Nothing was mentioned about bolt ons but yeah its not stock cus yes the internals are different but yeah as above longblock will act as stock just strong. I think it should have been worded different in the 1st place...
  17. if its a v3, where coil on top first starts the non sti and sti both have smooth cam covers. The dif between them externally would be as above the yellow injectors and orange afm howver these are easily changed. (wont go into v2 as no coil ontop but mani does bolt up I spose but then v2 sti and non sti have ribs and writing on the top portion of the cam cover). best way to tell without going too deep is one of 2 ways. If front covers are off remove a piston pin removal bung and turn engine over till you can see the side of the piston (this will tell u if short block is STI) assuming you can tell the difference between forged and cast pisons. (easy google will show u some rough images) secondaly u can remove a cam cover 8 10mm head bolts and then look at the bucket and shim ontop of the valve. If you can see a shim under the cam lobe sitting ontop of the bucket then is NOT STI but if there is no shim and it looks like the cam lobe is just pushing on the bucket then it IS STI. well the heads anyway but mentioned how to tell block too. other then that your guessing..
  18. Misus place. The v7 STI RA with the DCCD comes with the gold 16" wheels lol. look tiny in the GDB guards lol :-\ (theyr still alloy tho:)
  19. Thats the car/turbo EJ20T is talking about i think haha. We are both from tauranga and yeah i know of jackie, his car is no longer though he stacked it on the track i think. Ratchet, havent seen him in ages. Last time I saw him was at pukekohe and went for a gud few rounds in it so i know how the car felt.. I thought the track was going to claim it sooner or later ... first time I hoppd in that car I was like man this is guna hurt if we stack! He likes pushn it, had brake fade at the end of the bak str8 couple times too lol
  20. thanks for the comment guys, yeah wish I had more pics of it! yeah that bonnet won me ovr soon as I saw it!! 21. the rear hanger is different from memory. thats about it. (Not the 2 hangers on the muffler the one about 200mm back from the muffler on the end section and mounts up by subframe). rest worked for me.. but best to confirm with some1 else to be safe
