  1. Yea that km left value seems a bit gimmicky. Took the car down to wellington a few weeks ago and it was all over the place, and really slow updates so not really worth watching if you ask me. Damn 56k is pretty much brand new. Suppose its because there's alot less desire for auto's Jap import though aye? Long run time but low k's with the traffic over there. Mines at 120k. Got a sneaking suspicion the cambelt hasn't been done so will have to work out how to check for that...
  2. What part of tauranga are you hiding in? Its suprising how many of them you see once you have one
  3. Nice. Will definately get one of those when i'm ready. Will probably work out at about half the price of hyperdrive after shipping and currency change
  4. http://www.hyperdrive.co.nz/product/accessories/153/steering-wheel-control-interface-module/150917/detail http://www.hyperdrive.co.nz/product/steering-wheel-control/827/steering-wheel-interface-aswc/153343/detail
  5. I'm dealing with the guy over at cryotune now trying to sort out if he can do a e-tune for my 2.0L, keeping everything else stock. Not expecting a huge increase but anything is better than nothing. Could be a mod for you, nothing noticable. without going in and checking the rom id would anyone ever really know its been done. wink wink..
  6. Need some help from some guys with nz new 4th gens most of the dash is in japanese so i'm not completely sure what the things say, got a rough idea but just want to confirm Think this one is range? Temp obviously, and trip time? And instantaneous fuel usage and average?
  7. Damn had 2 spare one but blew them up a few weeks ago trying to diagnose a faulty HID boxy thing under the light for a mate. Try amazon most places wouldn't ship to nz but there was one that did, can't remember off the top of my head but shouldn't be hard to find. And they were philips ones so you'd think they would be better than the repco one's!?..
  8. If you can trust the little screen on the dash I basically limits throttle to about 2/3rds even when floored, so will always be a dog in that setting. S and S# are fairly similar just S# fully opens the throttle before being floored. Some people out there on the net reckon boost is limited in I and S. But so far S and S# have reached the same peaks on the boost gauge. Have yet to try it in I. You'd guess S# would be a bit more jerky as even slight pedal movement does more.
  9. Yea was thinking getting an e-tune was probably the best way. Getting a tactrix cable or something similar. Just don't really like the idea of having to do 3rd gear pulls on public roads... Got any names for reputable ones? Hear good things about cryotune, not sure if they deal with 2.0L engines much as all the US stuff is 2.5L
  10. Is it worth taking in a stock 2.0L gtb 4th gen for a tune? Any real gains to be had? Tuning sites always give vague percentages but anyone have any specific info on what can be gained from these engines? Moneys pretty tight right now as i've just bought the thing. So a full exhaust is a long way down the track. And downpipes are seemingly not that common for the vf38/vf45's also.
  11. Been considering one of the avojdm ones too, but that price..... Damn they're pricey
  12. Picked one up myself 2 weeks ago. Waaaay better than the 3rd gen's in almost every way. Is yours the 2.0L or 2.5L? And yea subanoodle thats the same setup i've got in mine. Most seem to have the trip and other details built into the clock screen but maybe the jap ones don't?.. At first like everyone else i thought SI drive was a joke but once you've had a play around it really does make a difference. Probably even more so on an auto box
  13. Can't guess why it wouldn't unless it failed and the last person just pulled it out. Heater works perfectly fine so i'll have a feel of the radiator pipe as it warms up and see what its doing. but just seems weird it takes almost twice as long as the old one
  14. Should a newer model legacy take longer for the engine to warm up? Or could the thermostat be stuck open? Takes considerably longer than my old B4 to get up to temp.
  15. Surely you would want to amp the infinity's, not much point javing a nice set of speakers if they're going to be under powered, will sound way better with a stand alone amp.. Most of those underseat subs have amps built in so would just need rca's run from the sub out on the headunit
  16. Is the lip still in alright condition?
  17. Wiring pinouts for legacy stereo's Makes life alot easier http://ae64.com/Legacy-pinout.htm
  18. Its a rev b so won't work. Rev d only for ecu tuning
  19. More dumb questions. Chucking a boost gauge in the new car. Is it ok to tee it off the bpv with the 4th gens or will it give funny readings like the 3rd gens? Think it was down to a strange line to do with the TT setup that put it wrong but just want to be sure. Also where would be the best place to hook into for the power, ground, illumination and ignition for the controller. Read a walkthrough for an wrx that spliced into the four wires going to the clock in the centre. Sound like a good idea??
  20. This isn't for the BE5. Got a new 06 legacy spec B that i want to do it to, sadly its an import that was imported after 2010 so would i be right in thinking it'll have to have a cat installed? Or risk them putting 2 and 2 together and realising it should have one
  21. Do you need any cats in a turbo back exhaust for legality? Been looking through the lvvta site and haven't really found any hard answers. Is keeping just the pre turbo cat enough?
  22. Damn just realised you've already been looking into rossubs mod
  23. Na they can't be tuned, well not easily at least. Hae more of a look around the net, there's people out there who reckon it can be done but costs a fortune. And probably no one in nz who has experience tuning them. Also as far as my understanding goes a link can't control the sequential turbo system either. It'd work if you changed to the parallel setup but you'd be better off with a single turbo than parallel. Best thing you can do with these engines is rossubs restrictor pill mod to decrease the turbo switchover impact. or a zerosports sequential controller.
