  1. EW ew ew. no. I used to have a C34 Stagea. The BP/BL Legacy is leagues ahead. For that money I think the BP/BL Legacy is a better car than the MPS6 in all areas bar interior. They are pretty reliable vehicles with good power potential. Manual only of course.
  2. Pretty much anything on a BP5 is going to sound a bit raspy/tinny due to the engine/exhaust design. You could wait around for a second hand set of mufflers , get a subtech downpipe and then get a custom centre pipe made.
  3. He isn\'t exaggerating about the S4 maintenance either. Those things cost a megaton to keep in tip top condition.
  4. Same car, don\'t bother I currently have a Rev D and a 2004 BP5, previously had a 2005 BLE Spec B as well. The Rev D feels 10 years older than a BL/BP and it won\'t feel any differento to a 2001 B4 Blitzen.
  5. Yep, cooler size will make no difference. The amount of volume a turbo flows is orders of magnitude larger than the volume of the intercooler/piping. Boost control and downpipe/exhaust will sort you out.
  6. get it all done with the cambelt and pay the difference, otherwise you will be paying double.
  7. I doubt the springs will increase your handling at all. It will be all for looks.
  8. Yep the 100km service is the cambelt and accessories service. Probably won\'t see a lot of change from $2k. Compared to the Airtrek the Legacy is probably a little sluggish off the line. This is mostly due to the drive by wire setup and tuning. Once it\'s moving or doing over 2500rpm it should haul pretty well and should be quicker than the airtrek. SI Drive is just a button that switches tuning, nothing really mechanical to break down. My 04 GTB has needed the 100k service and rear main seal replacement ~$1800. Plus a new O2 sensor ~$400, lower control arm bushes ~$400 and a clean of the VTC solenoids (free), had it for 4 years and 65kms, now at 155kms.
  9. A Legacy is a bit slow before about 2500rpm but should pull well through the range. How do you mean it has more lag than usual? Usual for a 2006 Legacy? It could need any number of things, or it could need nothing. You will also need to budget $1500 to $2000 for the 100km service.
  10. Voted the hatch as it defines a coming of age for the WRX. Despite being a complete departure from the older cars it manages to be an excellent all round package. Performance, practicality and pretty decent looks that even your better half will appreciate. "Sensible" hooligan car for the 30 something with 2 in the back?
  11. I would rather spend the money on downpipes or centre pipes as Marky says. The ZS controller is $$$.
  12. Waste of time and money. Replace car as DacerX has indicated. You are going to swap the "issues" with the TT system for issues getting a single turbo setup running nicely.
  13. XR6T will be grunty and thirsty as hell but at least entertaining to drive. The SV6 will be boring as fuck. Niether of them are really that much larger than a BP legacy...
  14. Poor searching in my behalf lol. Moar stickies required~!
  15. Couldn\'t quickly find an explanation on the H10 mod. Whats the deal with it?
  16. 175km on mine and will still be running 5-30 or 5-40 full synth..
  17. Plumb the turbo nipple directly to the wastegate, that should see you get a low boost level. If it all looks good then your boost controller is to blame.
  18. I actually jumped on this blitzen when I saw it as it appears fairly unique being facelift, manual, blue and leather
  19. Cheers! Picked it up for $7k a couple of weeks ago now. 175km on the clock, only had minor bits and pieces needing attention and a really good clean. Plus the wheels and tyres were stuffed (not round anymore lol) so I had to buy a new set Also looks like it had been fed 95 or worse as the learning tables were all in the red. Reset the ECU and it is going much better!
  20. Mine has the same thing lol. Going to check it out in the near future. Only had the car a couple of weeks.
  21. Looks nice and clean! Here\'s my new hack. Have decided to go for a cheap car and modify gently rather than loaning up big again. My old merc was nice but not enough enjoyment for the $$$. 2002 Blizten. Was pretty filthy when I got it and looked like the last owner hadn\'t cared for it in the 20km\'s that they owned it. I present: The new cheap hack! Plenty of things still need doing, rattles to fix, lowerings to lower, boosts to add! I present: The new cheap hack!
