  1. I'm still running the horse shoe with the spacers for the Whiteline ALK, wonder if there's enough clearance to do this as well.
  2. Pulled the rear knuckles off the parts Legacy ready to receive new bearings and lateral link bushes and be donated to the Rex that I've been driving for 25000km with borked bearings.
  3. I reckon they'll go after your car straight away - they have the power to take it if caught by an officer doing 40+ over the limit. Your license could be a little different - I've read the small print on camera fines before and I think says something like if you pay the fine (you don't challenge or transfer it) then you're admitting you're responsible for the offence. Based on that, if you get and pay the fine you may get a visitor serving a license suspension on you.
  4. Lol! Probably about as good for you as nutella as well. The rocker covers vent into those tubes and then into the turbo inlet pipe. I'd say clean them out and check again in a few weeks, a little oil is fine but not excrement looking stuff like that.
  5. It takes stopping and starting the engine a few times to clear the codes or you can reset the ECU (many ways of doing this, Google will help) to clear them
  6. Our wagons have steel front control arms from factory, unless you've upgraded to alloy ones there will be no free caster for you sorry
  7. Nope, stock bolts front and rear. I read somewhere that 1.3 negative is standard on my car. With alloy arms, ALK and 'free caster mod' I've gained 1 degree caster over factory wagon specs.
  8. Got mine done to 'street spec' after putting the alloy arms, ALK and RE003s on. Dat front toe before tho.
  9. I would've thought camber should be even and that less caster on the left will compensate for the camber of the road. Was it a full alignment or a typical 'alignment' aka toe check?
  10. RB30 VL Commodore was my first ever car......rolled it
  11. Yep, fookin good deal that, it's a nation wide promo by the looks. They're also running a promo for Ryco filters, buy an oil filter and get 20% off a engine or cabin air filter.
  12. Watched for 5 mins hoping the car would catch fire or the girl would get naked. Neither happened. I am disappoint.
  13. Might want to check these guys out if you want a mobile service.
  14. My car makes around the same power and has 199kms, still drives nicely - the dodgiest thing about it is the paintwork.
  15. S***, here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/engines/auction-1162675349.htm They mention there that they don't supply the "no. 3 idler", which you will need and mentioned in your OP. 13073*C (13073AA230).
  16. I used this kit when I did mine, except mine was cheaper as the belt was Mitsuboshi instead of Subaru. Not sure what sort of markup they put on over Partsouq tho as I've never really looked. If you decide to buy individually I have 4x genuine cam seals and 1x crank seal if you're interested. EDIT: Never mind that I just read you don't want a water pump. Could always ask them to do a kit without though.
  17. I don't mind the presenter, but I hate how he always puts his head right up close to cars on the dyno, I've seen him up close to an engine and now next to the wheel, wtf is he looking for? A piece of shrapnel in the face?
  18. I have a cable that should be able to read your codes, works fine on V7 and V8 Imprezas so I guess it should work for you? PM me if you're interested, I'm out in Karori.
  19. Didn't drive it for 5 days and the previously minor fuel leak under the manifold got 10000x worse, **** me sideways. Took 8hrs total to fix.
  20. Usually around $300 with springs 2nd hand, so not really expensive. I put standard STI struts and springs in my wagon, it remains pretty much standard height. I wouldn't get the STI shocks again they tend to start sticking and knocking as they get worn out, supposedly it doesn't affect performance of the strut but it's annoying.
  21. Ahh right, yeah you probably want a proper sized tap then rather than the closest metric size.
  22. I have a metric set of taps in the below sizes?
  23. Got them through SAS, off TradeMe http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1117244651.
  24. Installed a Whiteline ALK to go with my new alloy control arms. I ended up going with the 'motorsport' kit as I was able to get them in NZ for $200 new which is $140 cheaper than getting them through Whiteline. Braking + cornering stability is improved although I haven't been able to properly test it out yet. The only negative things noticed so far is increased road/tyre noise and a harsher jolt when going over drain covers/potholes, things most people won't care about because who buys these cars for ride comfort...
