Their bad reputation stems from the fact that they are cheap, and as such the kind of people who buy cheap cars also don\'t tend to treat them well. In other countries they have a very high level / reputation of reliability. My old Toyota and my girlfriend\'s corolla have both been more expensive to maintain than the three turbo subarus I have owned. Although some Subaru genuine parts are shockingly priced.
