  1. Running same pod as before Just a bigger intake pipe between pod to turbo Hmm the pod angle has changed and is sitting Abt on top of the abs unit and before was sitting on the Edge closer to engine Wudnt have thought pod placement within few cm will make that much of a difference Shall we try moving pod back to where it was which is few cm closer to engine and try ??? This is Wierd What else causes a reduction in intake noise?
  2. hmmm how come this one has gone more silent?? ok very wierd car seems to pull abt the same or better dunno will ask him to come around tonight and do some logs to see if pulls better but....y wud the noise become more suppressed????
  3. sooo... the sound the turbo makes when sucking hard thru a pod specially.. kinda like ssssssssssssssssssss and so on anyway we upgraded a mates wrx to a bigger intake pipe and before it used to make a nice sucking noise when getting on boost now the noise is gone it still pulls as hard if not better my theory is that the bigger intake has less restrictions so less sound due to a cleaner path from pod to turbo... thoughts???
  4. V9sti and above changed hub pattern but Wrx stayed same Anyway yes the front from a v8 will fit fine Rears need top hat chNge Also the break hose mounting is different one is clip and one uses bolt to hold
  5. Bro so just to confirm u got the 7s Ecu running now or still in progress? Cos we have done a few v3/4 Wrx to Sti setup and mostly just put in the yellow inj and orange afm and the 7s Ecu Didn\'t change other stuff Kept fuel pressure same as stock Bigger fuel pump was a good idea u did Anyway the 7s stock boost cut I think is 22 psi or so Can remember exact number but have run 20psi and it didnt cut That was on a vf22 and the car went really quick Without fcd I wud say u will get at least 20 odd psi and that is a lot If u really really Wana run fcd maybe run 2 map sensors 1 stock as let Ecu use it and get creative on addin a second to get the fcd to read it Umm what turbo u running? U can always put a bigger turbo and at sMe boost it should work out quicker Also maybe stick in a wideband sensor to ensure u not leaning out etc on top end as 20+ psi and yellows = nearly maxing out region Umm yea that wud be another reason not to fcd as u will be maxing out the yellows injectors at few more psi than cut
  6. That\'s a heap of boost for a long time Must be a good build then Lucky for u man! What is the plan now Bigger turbo and retune to ensure safety? This is a long thread but did u uncove what injectors it\'s running (must be big to support 28psi) Also maybe spend on the drivetrain since the engine side seems good....
  7. Pappu1

    ECU bypassed?

    whats a caramel wheel? ???
  8. if u do wana manual conversion it - i have a full manual conversion kit
  9. well i wud say just check ur block first - what if its already built - be lucky for u man turbo - twisted gt30 wud do the up to 300wkw block wise - if u need to then u can either start building a forged block or get a v7 shortblock from wingers etc and boldt ur upgraded heads as per ur earlier post that ought to do it nicely
  10. maybe he just made up the 29psi lol not the first time someone wud have given a false number to get a sale but yea man yellows and 20psi wud be the max kinda in wither case, u seem to have a nice plan in mind would be a nice runner after u get things sorted the G1 seems to be ok to controll up to 600cc from what experience i have with that and seems to get hairy after that but that is alsmost 250kw@w by then anyway so given the v1 and light weight it will be one hell of a quick car
  11. seems that 190wkw was tuned? or have i read it wrong....
  12. yea u can wire them in should be a writup somewhere here not personally done but hear its possible.. some v1/2 people may have the relevent info/diagrams etc
  13. spark plugs in ok condition?> also sometimes the v1 coils can play up - make sure they tightly in place and no cracks etc on them start there anyway.. using 98 gas i hope PS..looks like a nice car
  14. u could be in luck sometimes they have really worked examples so never know!
  15. could be a link ecu type setup maybe a pic be a good think to ID it or call link in chch and give numbers and they can confirm pod be a better idea then mesh hehehe and 29psi...nice is it a fully worked motor?
  16. thanks kiwi_fozze yep fiji..and im going to fiji soon anyway 0.5 bar...near wastegate pressure... as said above... basics i wud look at would be: are all the lines for the turbo hooked up correct? is there a restrictor pill in the vac line off the turbo? is the cel on? what fuel u using? does it have audible knock sound? have u used and wired the fuel pump controller thats found on the v7 sti or just wired the relay straight o pump? no blockages on intake and exhaust side? any exhaust leaks e.g. up pipe etc what abt any vac leaks or for that matter any leaks in the bov/intercooler hoses? sort of really check all the basics first i wud say....
  17. U know u could be right about the hard limit On one Ecu I notched a 22.5psi celling on the map and on another I read higher Must be certain revrsions that do that ay.... Any idea if tht hard limit can be removed on the ones that do have it?
  18. Hmm will go recheck logs see if I ever had one that high up Be really good if it did If I\'m not mistaken 1.7 bar be like close to 25psi almost That gt28 v7 must have move a fair bit quick at 1.65 bar!!
  19. Excellent panel and paint Grayson ave manukau Good work and prices Does mates rates if cash jobs especially Subaru / performance cars etc
  20. have seen the 99$ scanners work well in getting the codes off that model bro
  21. the td06 is not too bad to be honest i think ppl put it on a stock tuned ecu and then get lag and then complain for the ecu tuned ones u can get it to come a lot better not as quick as vf34 of course but not a whole lot later either but the best thing is that it holds power a long time after the vf\'s give up but yea given all that i prefer the vf somehow lol (personal opinion nothing against a td06)
