  1. Well in my back yard I have,2xBF,a BD,GC,GF & a BPE. All setup by the same wheel align guy. Have to say they all"feel" the same steering wise. Bad toe in will give the "light" steering feel. Therefore correct wheel alignment does make a difference.
  2. Getting a wheel alignment done may change it.
  3. Pedal force changes. yes, Also fade is reduced. Car stopping distance and ability to reduce speed quickly under normal conditions does not change. Of course this is for the average daily driver, Not the driver that drives! or is racing etc, if you know what i mean.
  4. Found this today. http://www.stuff.co.nz/motoring/videos/9811764/Subaru-STis-stickbomb-race-video-goes-viral
  5. Bigger Rotors create more leverage, so there would be more stopping force given the same enegry input. Think of differece of effort using a 300mm strong arm vs. a 1000mm strong to undo the same bolt. Mr D-Style Read this. You obviously have not. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1998265
  6. True. The bigger and stickier the footprint the better the stopping power. Physics.
  7. Well somethings different as when the pads are up to temp they bite really really well. Wouldnt know if it stops quicker or not but the initial bite is a hell of a lot different. Because there is more pad area and less "acceptable" therefore noticeable initial pad "warming" fade. Re my first post when i posted this topic. Better compound, construction and wider tires will stop you quicker.
  8. Centre diff issue ..OR tires not equal in circumference. As in front to rear. Usually
  9. Car will NOT stop quicker with bigger brakes..........Bigger brakes just reduce fade.
  10. Then of course there is monomolecular tribo fluid. Moreys, stp, Motul, and other hi end well known oil blenders use this as an additive. Costs around $300/litre Moreys stabiliser has about 20% of this stuff in it. MBL8 is totally different and utilises graphite/silicon based slippery stuff. Basic statement is:- All/any additives that increase the lubrication factor can be considered as"good" stuff for all oils. After the warranty period of course. Here is some reading on oils in general with respect to additives. http://www.network54.com/Forum/15854/thread/924818751/925822545/Article+on+snake+oils and http://www.portale.budgetwebdesign.biz/news.php
  11. Maybe its just a diagram?....But yes true. does not look like it works as shown.
  12. I Made my own venturi. Fitted to bend under car. My errrrr. 2nd bend or lower one. Was not hard to do . Works well. simple non return valve ss ball type "free" not sprung. Always has crankcase in the negative pressure zone. No Catch can fitted.
  13. Setup correctly. i.e: hottest point possible,(first bend on turbo downpipe for subaru) Then also used with the catch can for track. Equals no risk of oil cloud or smoke. Used on a road car without catch can. Very slight risk of a smoke screen.
  14. Oh boy:_ Im sure this has been discussed..Oh Here it is:- http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,40976.0.html and http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,34214.msg455900.html#msg455900
  15. Good earth to the engine? Also check alternator. No AC current as this can cause ECU brain malfunction too. "free" checks.
  16. Je pistons,Thermal coated. With Eagle H beam rods. 250 Kw. Now done 50,000km.
  17. Fact is:- Horses for courses. Decapping for the engine that will for its lifetime spend it above 3k-4k with WOT most of this time may well benefit from lower vaporisation speeds. This aids charge air cooling. Of course this is beneficial in this particular application. Road car? Not a good idea and unnecessary . ...Thats my opinion!.
  18. is that a + or a minus equation? 17 Hp? Thats quite a claim.
  19. My opinion for what its worth:- Decapping injectors is silly as it ruins the spray pattern and slows fuel vaporisation. Size the correct injector for the application/power required. Always use a single rising rate fuel regulator on turbo applications.. Two regs will never flow equally. End.
  20. I had customer with centre diff bind issue. Long story short. Two new rear tyres Circumference was 2030 metres. Worn tyres on the front Measured 2005 Metres. Two new front tyres sorted the bind issue. around 15% diff so at mid worn tires speedo should be at correct speed?.So your speedo will never be accurate A?..Or thereabouts.exactly. 10%? why worry?
  21. The thing is:- Normal tire wear from new to worn out is a 15%difference in speed reading to actual indicated. So 10% is normal speedo error normally in most vehicles.. Now that leads to a discussion on:- . How The F** can you have a rule stating 4% as the margin before infringement. True story!
  22. Leave your wire in place wired back to the "key" output. There are two wires that can be connected in one of the auto gearbox plugs. Not sure which ones. Someone here wil know.....I just bypass it like you have already.
