  1. It's fucking tragic. Abysmal job of putting it together. Only painted the outside panels. One of a milllion heinous C-west kits. That car is everything that's wrong with the New Zealand car scene. It's bro, and it's shit.
  2. What ever causes it, I'd say it's by design. Generally people don't have it in tippy mode when cruising in a straight line - the higher revs will give a faster response, much more idea when carving up some mountainous corners The overdrive theory is a good one.

Bullshit. I'm under 25 (21), had two claims and have never been stung with an "extra excess". My excess is $500, I know, I've paid it twice.

  6. Your synchro is worn, replace it. Splitting a g/b is spency as though.
  7. Petroleum based lubricants aren't silicon... Clearly. Still up the whack
  8. either that or he paid way to much for a half finished show car and now feels like a dick and is trying to recoup some money.
  9. Haha yeah, I'm sorry silicon is nigh on chemically inert... It has the potential to actually react and neutralise acids. So I don't know what Blazd was smoking.
  10. If you do, make it plumbed back, otherwise you're not helping the engine.
  11. Does it do it with the hand brake?
  12. The reason it discolours is likely oxidiation, heating it up will break the bonds and return original form when it cools and re-crystallises. So effectively, yes you are melting the plastic to return its original molecular structure. The other option is of course chemical restoration - results may vary; I had some mother's stuff that worked for about a week and then the original grey/whitish tinge returned.
  13. Electric motors have a flat torque curve. Very beneficial for acceleration
  14. They're pretty reliable if you don't fiddle with the boost etc. My 2001 B4 is at 170k, all stock standard, two owners... sounds similar to yours
  15. aren't they meteorological terms? lol.
  16. I never joke about with pumps and pipes.
  17. That is insane, looks like we should be having some commercially related product in 30 years Possibly, the holy grail is the room-temperature superconductor. If one is discovered, it would be a giant leap forward in many technologies.
