  1. You'd think so, but this one has neither media controls or cruise control but appears, to be an S-Pack.
  2. @1randomkiwi Really helpful thanks! I will be going for a pre-facelift. The facelift/DITs are less common and more expensive. Is retrofitting media controls/cruise control expensive? I imagine it's relatively plug and play but buying the part is expensive...
  3. What would you use to check the specs? Other than being described as "s-pack" and seeing whether it has the McIntosh head unit, it's hard to know what to look out for....
  4. I'm in Auckland, hence the annoyance that most of the BR GTs on TradeMe appear to be in CHCH;)
  5. For Blutooth, get one of these. Have it in both of my 2004 Legacy wagons with Mcintosh stereos and it works fine for music via bluetooth. Hands-free calling is also passable. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Yatour-BTA-Bluetooth-car-kit-Hands-free-phone-call-A2DP-music-streaming-adapter-fits-Subaru-and/32566158650.html?spm=2114.13010208.99999999.261.MVxxqj Otherwise you spend double that on an "Anycar" BT module. You can replace the system entirely, but because the fascia is integrated with the AC controls, you will probably need to drop ~$500 on a new double din fascia before you even get a new head unit etc...
  6. In my quest to get a turbo Legacy, I've realised that the price difference between a low kms ~2006 BP Spec.B GT and a BR 2.5 GT isn't massive, so I've been looking at a couple on TM lately. Anything to look out for with these cars? Looking at you @Kiwiflyboy and @sobanoodle.... They also all seem to be in Christchurch, is @gotasuby / @SAS still the CS goto mechanic in CHCH if I want a car inspected?
  7. 500k vs 400km, wow, I knew you used more petrol with E10 but that is pretty material. Anyone else had similar experiences with Gull 98 vs Mob/BP 98? Presumably the net spend is probably the same since Gull is cheaper...
  8. ha, you've already waited ~5 months, maybe wait another 5 months just in case it isn't:)
  9. Your one is just an OEM option mesh grille you can get fitted when you buy it. The default is the one with the bar (I think), except for the spec B which get the honeycomb one, like this.
  10. Another option for 3.0 sedan... https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/subaru/auction-1478255292.htm
  11. Don't have too much to add beyond what others have said. What type of driving do you mostly do? I have a 3.0 which I commute in during peak traffic in AKL and it chews through gas...love it on the open road though. Also own a NA 2.0 and it is pretty soulless. Manual are generally a couple grand more than auto. I like the black one of those three. Interested to see what the exhaust sounds like as it says it has a cat-back, think that means the stock mid muffler is gone (others can confirm). Easy to make these cars sound bad if you delete mid-muffler. So make sure you take it for a cruise on the motorway and also put your foot down a few times.
  12. Where did you get to with this @heylinb4nz?
  13. Random follow up, would something like these work as a cheap replacement for the main woofers in the front door? https://www.surplustronics.co.nz/products/560-polypropylene-cone-hi-fi-woofer-625-inch
  14. haha, I thought it might be Waiheke, that's much more reasonable!
  15. Wait, is this where I think it is and requires a ferry trip to access?
  16. Ordered new AFR sensors for the BPE from Rock Auto in the USA last Monday, just checked the tracking to see where they are...for some reason DHL think the most direct route to from Los Angles to Auckland is via Slough in Great Britain...
  17. Since it seems to be the done thing at the moment.... cleaned up my headlights. Used some heavy duty rubbing compound, rinsed off, dried and then applied polish. Cleaned up pretty well for a pretty limited effort! Will be interesting to see how they hold up.
  18. @Batbaruman what have you decided RE your exhaust?
  19. That is a different Ajay:) But +1 for @Subirex Automotive.
  20. NA BP Legacy is very easy to do oil change on as there no plastic covers over the filter or bung. So just jack it up and everything is there. The front jack point is the CV from memory and then I just put jack stands under the chassis rails. There are jack points under the skirt, but you will probably crush the plastic skirts if you put a jack stand under them. And I use 5w-30 Magnatec. From memory that is the recommended grade in the service manual though 10w is also fine/in spec (recommended for hotter areas from memory).
  21. @sobanoodle ahhh, that makes much more sense. Had never come across autosol and just saw "polish" in the description (ignoring that it's for metal!) so was wondering how it would get rid of oxidisation! I already have some heavy cutting compound, step I am missing is some polish afterwards. You do it by hand?
  22. Cutting compound then autosol? Or is autosol slightly abbrasive?
  23. Believe I posted about the same thing the first time my wife and I left the house at night in separate cars, haha.
  24. This. What is your cleaning setup @1randomkiwi?
  25. Sounds like he needs to replace the rotors anyways though so it's not just 4pots on the front and new pads....would that still be cheaper? Plus you would want matching rear 2 pots so you don't have a mismatched set:) Interested in the physics of this, I thought the deal was you need large rotors so they cool quicker (bigger surface area), whereas you talking about how quickly the heat up with larger pads?
