  1. This is about a month old taken at the Nov 2009 Sema show. I think I quite like it compaired to a standered one http://www.motorauthority.com/blog/1037690_subaru-unveils-track-ready-legacy-gtk-concept-at-sema Hot on the heels of last week’s tease of Subaru’s WRX STI and Legacy VIP concept cars planned for this week’s 2009 SEMA Auto Show comes a third concept from the Japanese automaker, once again based on the new 2010 Legacy. If a turbocharged, lowered, beefed-up Subaru sport wagon sounds like a great car for taking to the track or for some autocross action, then this is one concept you should definitely take a close look at if you happen to be attending SEMA this year. Described as the “ultimate” track-ready sporty wagon, the new Subaru Legacy GTk concept car is aimed directly at performance enthusiasts who may possibly have a family-lift the tailgate and you’ll find a Coyote Motorsports XP go-kart for the kiddies. The concept was developed by Specialized Vehicles Inc. (SVI) and features a modified roof, blacked-out headlights, a custom front bumper with integrated fog-lights, hood vents, smoked tail lights and a fully custom black-over-red paint scheme. The powertrain was also boosted up and now includes a new six-speed manual gearbox, a modified exhaust system and recalibrated ECU, all of which liberates a healthy 300 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque from the vehicle’s 2.5-liter ‘boxer’ engine. To make sure all that grunt reaches the ground safely, designers also added a short-throw shifter, a viscous coupling locking center differential, a new strut tower brace, a Bilstein suspension kit and a full Brembo brake package with six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers in the rear. 2. Whats the guts with using Lexan on a road car? Vehical will eventually be a road legal race car. Thinking of replacing the side rear quarter glass with it. Maybe also the drivers and passengers side glass too? Thanks
  3. Well go back to what the factory EA63, EA71, and EA81 engines never had a harmonic dampner. They did extreamly high millages with no problems. Those engines only had a pressed steel pullys. Is it something thats needed on a high preformace engine? I had know a few guys that had run cnc front pullys on there RXs RXIIs, XT6s, SVXs etc never had problems.
  4. Very true on this... My Work brought a lot of brand new Chinese made school buses. Every one Ive driven is totally different : even tho they are exactly the same bus model and everything. Bascally you place your order and with in 24hrs your brand new bus rolls of the assembly ready to be shipped. My bus is not even one year old yet and its got alot of things have broken or stopped working on it. Rev counter does not work, broken two engine mounts with in 2 weeks, Raditors leaking ( not my bus ) , Window wipers packed up ( not my bus ) plus lots of others stuff etc. I beleave my bus has a copy of a Cummings Diesel Turbo motor. It has still yet to go bang tho lol still running fine They leak oil like a siv
  5. I dont really mind it. I still prefer the convertible Legacy they did
  6. Very true. Mind you some have called them the best bad weather sports coupe in the world lol. Driving a SVX in bad condisions is mind boggling. Seem 2 handel a hell of a lot better. Sticks like glue to the pavement etc I found it like it was a completely different car than driving in the dry. Honestly any one would be very hard pressed to find a later SVX. 1992s would be the most common. Just look for one that was a rebuilt auto in it showing receipts of it being recently done. Intresting enought as far as I know, No one here has so far put in a manual into a SVX yet. By the looks of things you have to move the wiring loom. so you can put the clutch pedal etc right where the wiring loom hole is in the firewall.
  7. Ho ho ho Merry Christmas every one and Have a happy new year
  8. I will be still chipping away at sound deading lol. still have to finish doing the passegers area and the boot.
  9. Cool wee vid Heres the link if it does not work.. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/20/behold-the-power-of-subaru-wrx-sti-tows-semi-out-of-snow/#continued
  10. Just Be careful... Ive heard from a few guys that tryed to get off tickets and did, then the police trageted there cars. They kept getting pulled over etc... Only stopped once they sold there cars/utes Mind you saying that.. that was a few years ago
  11. What SVX did you have alook at? Was it NZ new or 2nd hand Jap import? The JDMs have a tad more power... Ive found it quite noticable and handel a little different too
  12. Totally agree Its one of the best cars ive driven But put money away for getting the auto rebuilt...
  13. The SVX has a cd of 0.29 That last pic made me think of a guy that fitted this ugly big wing based on a sunbird to his SVX lol ;D
  14. http://www.motorauthority.com/blog/1039570_subaru-version-of-ft-86-confirmed-but-not-yet-for-u-s Subaru’s version of the upcoming sports car codeveloped with Toyota is definitely a go. “There will be a Subaru version of the car; we have not yet confirmed it for the U.S.,” clarified Subaru of America director of corporate communications Michael McHale, to Motor Authority at Subaru's stand at the Los Angeles Auto show. Some outlets have recently speculated that a Subaru version of the Toyota FT-86 won’t arrive after all, but the project is moving forward with a yet unnamed, uniquely Subaru version under development that’s “coming along quite nicely,” said McHale. Just what might be the differences between the two? Although McHale wouldn’t talk specifics, “The Subaru’s going to be a little bit more Subaru-like, and the Toyota’s going to be a little bit more Toyota-like,” he said. Subaru has done the majority of the engineering work for the FT-86 and will build two distinct versions of the vehicle—one for Subaru, the other for Toyota—in Japan. While it’s still officially up in the air as to whether the FT will have all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive, it would be expected that a flagship sports car would exhibit Subaru’s core qualities, including all-wheel drive with a horizontally opposed ‘Boxer’ four-cylinder engine. The related Toyota FT-86 concept, shown at the Tokyo show in October, was rear-wheel-drive and powered by a boxer four. Subaru has plenty of time to decide; the new sports car isn't expected to bow in production form for another couple of years.
  15. Weather it will look like that is not known... It maybe a badged engineered FT86 or a different outer skined verson of the 86 coupe... Nothing is actually known about the subaru verson... as that subaru has not offically released
  16. Stop... I'm dribbling! Just to entertain the thought for 3 seconds... How much would a 6 speed set ya back roughly. Would it be a hard match up to the BG? The cheapest ive ever seen one was $2000. seen prices include 2500, 3000 3500, 4000, 5000 and even up to 7k

  20. I made myself a very simple steering wheel puller.. Just 2 bolts and a peice of steel approx 8mm thick about 30 mm wide and about 80 etc mm long. So far it has fitted every subaru steering wheel that I've pulled off. every thing from Justys, Leones, Svxs etc
