Most average persons Legacy won't benefit from any sort of intercooling upgrade; as they will never raise boost levels beyond the OE coolers capability, no point in installing a FMIC just because it's cheaper than an after market TMIC; unless it's a pre-emptive modification leading on to other power adder's. Ultimately you want to put an intercooler in the best possible place for flow/cooling which as we've seen is front mounted. WRC car's don't make huge power and are very efficently FMICooled.

Keltik, whats the point in filling the filter? If the car takes 4.5l from factory then 4.5 will fill the sump and the filter.

For a GEN1 RS engine still using RS heads, Overtime i've seen with many Gen 1 Legacy's; that Castrol Magnatec works well with this model of EJ20. I use Motul Turbolight 4100 10w 40 if you can afford that, give it a try but by all means ask around. Change it pre 5000kms and if the lifters are noisy then run Proma MBL8 with every oil change. Don't chop and change oil brands stick with one.

Do you still have the original RS heads attached?

You would best have somebody look at it. You may have plumbed up something wrong or.

Your tire iron will fit the sump plug bolt. And you need a filter wrench to remove the filter. You'll need 4.5 litres of oil. Go to your local Subaru parts vendor and ask for the filter and sump plug squash type washer.

The BF5 exhaust will be slightly longer than the GF8.

Adequete for wildturkey. I've seen a number of setup with stock RS rods making aorund 200kw@wheels.
