  1. I run the cheapest rotors BNT sell on my race car, never had an issue coming up 3 seasons of racing on them. Not bad for under $100 each. Pads i would suggest the Bendix SRT pads, they are the new ultimates so are probably dusty but they work from cold and are bloody hard to overheat. Depends if you just want looks or actually want your brakes to work?
  2. BUMP next sunday people, no too late to enter. I'll be entering next week if my cars still going, or else I'll just be down there helping.
  3. More info has just come out here https://www.facebook.com/download/preview/580773845355380
  4. Thought I'd let everyone know Hamilton Car club and Motorsport BOP are organising a Dual sprint day at Taupo motorsport park on 18th Jan 2015 official Regs etc to come but the basics are Requirements: Clubsport day license probably required (can be got on the day) No cage required A safe car to at least Warrant of Fitness standards (especially brakes, steering and seat). The driver must be at least 12 years old. A fire extinguisher is recommended. Wear an approved crash helmet Wear fire retardant overalls A MotorSport NZ Logbook is required for all un-registered vehicles and/or vehicles fitted with roll protection which must be homologated. Please contact the MotorSport New Zealand office for more information regarding this This is a great event to get into circuit competition. Your only racing the clock with the added challenge of starting side by side with a similar paced car. Any questions please ask, I'll try to answer all them. I'm helping to organise and run this event so if i don't know I'll find someone who will cheers
  5. If you or anyone has ideas for a meet etc feel free to post it up. I've tried organizing meets in the past and had the same 4 people show up each time (on a good day)
  6. no way to test them AFAIK I got eagle oversize leads from repco.
  7. I had the same issue, was just a dodgy ht lead. and i always recommend new.

    Fender bracing

everyone i've talked to about these thinks they are a crock of ****, like koom said if your chassis is twisting there you have other issues more pressing!
  9. I've just run 1 cable from the battery via a 30A relay that feeds both the intank and the external fuel pumps, the relay is controlled from the factory fuel pump feed. I added a switch into the new feed from the battery also so i can crank the car to get oil pressure etc.
  10. offset inst the only thing that effects if the wheels will clear brembos, also depends on the spoke design\x factor of the rim. Thje offset is only where the hub face is in relation to the centrepoint of the rim.
  11. You missed the meet at Wong's a couple weeks ago with the Auckland crew!!! I was thinking we could do a similar meet next month? maybe the 13th july? meet at Wong's around 6:30?, have a feed and talk some ****?? or are people up for a cruise? I'm looking at going on the Kawhia cruise on Nov 2nd, raising funds for MS, the guy organising it is part of the Hamilton car club and although its aimed at classic cars etc he's more than happy for a bunch of subies to come along (more cars = more money raised) I'll start a thread for the Kawhia cruise closer to the date.
  12. I've got a wagon bumper on my gc, exactly the same, the v2 had a different style bumper to the later v5's etc but it's only a cosmetic difference with a defined "bumper" strip on the early bumpers. the later style bumpers look a little nicer IMO but any gc\gf bumper will fit any gc\gf in my experiance
  13. I loved the sound of my genome, I hate how most subarus all sound the same.
  14. Then wait 5 months to get the refund.... lol speedfactor in tauranga do XYZ's which are cheap and seem pretty good to me.
  15. I\'ve run bcs in my forester for the last 4 years, no issues so far (prob 40-50,000kms) and they can be adjusted from shake you teeth out hard to soft as butter and everything in between and i run xyz\'s in my rcae car, not high mileage but handle ripple strips well!
  16. Hmmm i didn\'t even know there was meant to be a spring there, I don\'t have that spring on either of my cars, done 100,000kms on my forester and never had an issue, and the race car hasnt had an issue (the box has been in and out a bit tho)
  17. currently doing the superlap series https://www.facebook.com/NZSuperlap here\'s my race cars fb page with details of all the events I\'ve done etc https://www.facebook.com/nstg8
  18. If anyone is still keen for a skid round a track on the same weekend megameet was going to be held, there is superlap at hampton downs, there are classes that cover all cars from road registered daily drivers to fully fledged time attack cars (like the hell evo) and everything in between. I\'ll be up there assuming my cars lasts the next round at taupo this weekend. Theres 2 days of racing, sat is practice and was run by playday and sun is competition day. It only costs $80 to enter for both days which is bloody cheap to get timed laps! All the regs can be found on the nz superlap facebook page.
  19. those aftermarket rears might have looked better on a black or red car. stock looks way better on the silver
  20. Te rapa automotive did mine in the RA, I think mine was about $500 to tune.
  21. Have you increased your scoop and air shroud size? you wont see much better air temps until then, in fact they will probably get worse, mine did untill i put a bigger scoop and shroud on.
  22. My forester does that, I\'ve tried and changed a lot of things, nothing has really helped, I now call it a "feature" rather than a fault
  23. theres a small clip where the cable comes into the hub, then you just need to remove the back handbrake shoe and it should come out.
  24. I used a 20ton press to get mine out, and ended up wrecking the strut mount on the hub. sorry not the helpful
  25. I\'m using Brian crower rods and carrilo pistons, they handled some massive pre-det that melted valves and cracked heads and theyre still going strong.
