  1. theres a guy on TM that sells a chipped ecu that does yellows, but i dont know how good his skills are these days, years ago i got a chipped ecu off him for my GT, thing sounded like i had coins falling out of it afterwards, pinking/detonation was terrible

  7. BE5C's have a VF31/32 combo, D's have a VF32/33 combo, you can tell a 33 by its larger compressor cover inlets and outlets, having a normal 52mm outlet
  8. This car wont see a turbo, that engine is the same unit that subaru themselves have said was unsuitable for turboing in the next gen WRX

Could be a good thing, the impreza platform is getting too big, if im not mistakin the wheelbase is now bigger than a BC5, it is heavier than a BC5, the engine and driveline is great, but hauling around 1500+ kgs instead of 1250 in the GC days makes what could be a seriously fast car, abit of a rolly polly quick road car. I see them using the WRX model as something usealbe everyday but sporty, and the STI as still useable everyday but with a number of comprimises made in the name of performance
  11. Hmmm how much power are you making at the wheels then? Can't imagine 200kw would trouble the transmission? Remember, transmissions dont give a fuck how much POWER you are making, its the torque output that over loads them

  13. Yeah i think only the proper australian spec cars come without limiters, Our NZ new mitsi evolutions (bar the 10 as they must of been tagged as NZ cars and were reprogrammed, and the 9 as we got a AUSDM spec'd car) still have limiters, the NZ new coupes have limiters

  16. Not quite true, the aus RS wagons are all manual, have a VF12 (larger than both the VF8 and 10 found in the JDM legacys) and specd exactly the same as a sedan with the sportier seats, 3 spoke momo etc.

If it backfires it means its got a missfire, it would have to be way over rich to backfire, you would see plenty of black smoke under boost. so its likely lean or ignition break down, are the plugs gapped to .7 to .8? you could have a poor powersupply or earth to the coil giving it weak spark.
  18. His actual best bet is too take it to someone that actually knows what they are doing, but this is something most club members arent keen on doing.
  19. google it, No it wont have a LSD front diff, viscous center diff and either a 4.1?? or 4.444 diff ratio

Is the fuel pressure reg plugged in?, maybe a long process but you could try swapping back to your og ecu afm injectors, and then run 1 bar on it and see how the car reacts, if its ok then you have elminated everything else on the car. By the sounds of your problem its either the ignition breaking down, the mixture lean or over rich or the ecu is doing something stupid with the timing/fueling
