Version 5 wrx gearbox

I was looking under the bonnet of my NZ new v5 wrx and noticed the code on the transmission is different to the transmission code on the strut tower plate. Is this normal?

The code on the gearbox is "TY754VBAAA" and the code on the plate is "TY754VN1AA" Some website said the "TY754VBAAA" code is for a v5 sti and the same website doesn't list the code stated on my plate.

It seems to drive ok, although there is a bit of a vibration when taking of slowly and it only revs at 1850 rpm in 4th at 50km which seems to low (i.e the car wants to do 60 everywhere )

If the box has been swapped how would I check it has a matching rear diff?

From the data I've got, it shows the *VN1AA box as being fitted to the "UK/Europe Impreza Turbo 2000 / GT MY99" but has no details on ratios.

The *VBAAA box is shown as from the "JDM Impreza WRX & WRX STi Ver.V/VI MY99-00" and has a final drive ratio of 4.444

A good indicator that your rear diff matches your gearbox is that it drives normally and hasn't shat the centre diff.

So I've either got an sti box in my car or someone is playing a funny joke with transmission stickers.

Would there be any difference in the speed sensor output from either box?
