Pads have arrived :)

rang race brakes yesterday at about 3pm, ordered some ds2000s F & R. $510 all up. Turned up this morning at 8 am.

Now the rear rotors are about half worn, have a little lip on them. Would you guys recommend getting them machined? or just machining the lip off?

Depending on how big the lip is, Id just replace them. Rotors are pretty cheap and you dont need insanely good ones on the rear.

They are still above minimum thickness and i dont think they are warped.

Some chinese ones on the rear you reckon?

Well its all chinese. If decent fronts are only $90 each, i imagine rears are a bit cheaper?

Also when you get the rotors milled, they remove a fair bit of material - how much will you have left above the minimum thickness after that. Something to think about.

Either way id reccomend getting all your rotors milled/replaced before the new pads go in. I noticed a fair difference in stopping power when bedding new pads into a fresh rotor instead of an old one with other crap on it.

Of course if your car is only used on the street, then i wouldnt worry so much.

hmm true. Race brakes told me the rears are more expensive than the fronts coz they have the hand brake assembly in them?
