Help Please - 2001 Subaru Legacy 250T

Hi There,

I thought I would join up here as I've only just got my Subaru.

I'm having an issue however with the passengers side front wheel. I've taken it to my mechanic who can't find anything wrong with it. I've also taken it to Mag & Turbo to have it looked at but they can't find the issue.

Yet when anyone sits in the passengers side they can feel it click underneith their feet.

It ususally happens when you turn right. Makes a slight clicking noise.

I first thought it was the wheel bearing. But it's not that... hmmm so I don't know.

So would anyone be able to shed some light on my issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Any help is much appreciated. Would be keen to meet up with some of you guys?

Opps! Forgot to mention in my post that I've had that checked too and it's not that either! :-\

hrmmm rather lost on what then... could you get a video up or where abouts are you?

Lower arm bolts all tight? And I mean farkin tight.

And check the subframe to chassis rail bolts too. I've seen those loosen off.

when i took the box from my air filter out, it started making noise on my drivers side. Da air filter was rattling in the chassis bit. Thought it was my c.v. Could be the engine rattling to somethn or could be inner cv?

Yeah the noise is coming from the passengers side, basically they can feel it under their feet.

All the lower arm bolts were double checked, but they are all on tight.

That was one of the first things that Mag & Turbo checked..

I will have to check the subframe to chassis rail bolts. Not sure if they were checked.

Not sure if I could get a video up. It's quite hard to hear the noise and it comes and goes randomly.

Hopefully it's not one of those mysterious noises that no one can diagnose!

if its under your feet, id put my money on the lower arms, particularly the front bush.

like boostin says, they need to be crazy tight

Check the ball joint nut, remove the split pin and put a big bar on it.

Maybe check the tyre itself too for a nail/screw/bolt embedded in the tread...

Yeah cheers for that. I might have a look into those suggestions and go from there.

I went out on a bit of a road trip yesterday and seems to be making more noise again.. It would almost appear like the sound is coming from the steering? But have no idea... GRR!! Just wish it was straight forward and easy to fix.

But going for my WOF today, so lets hope they can find out what's wrong with it!

Well finally worked out what it was! Turns out it's just the inner-CV joint? Apparently the front wheels have two due to the all-wheel drive. I think I will just continue to take my car to a Subaru specialist!

Makes life just that little bit easier... At least they know what to look for... haha

all fwd's have inner and outer cv's else you couldn't have suspension movement, Citreon started the trend with their egg carrying weapon the 2CV.
