BL/BP legacy

So i was looking at a BP Legacy with a workmate as he was looking at buying and noticed a couple of odd things.

1/ It looked like it had a engine mount like off the top of the head on the drivers side by the turbo??? Is that what it is or some other fangdangled thing.

2/ the turbo outlet to intercooler was rotated 90 degrees and basically came out on top and the intercooler had like a flange to bolt to the turbo.

Does that sound right or am i talking out my arse...just more for interest sake really lol

Weird i wonder why those turbos are like that yet wrx/sti's of t hat era still mounted traditioanlly.

Yeah, BL/BP's are fricken odd.

The turbo bends up 90º, and has a flange direct to the intercooler. The intercooler flows left to right, rather than top to bottom, then the outlet goes down, to the trottle body which sit's UNDER the plastic intake manifold. They are all electronic throttle to my knowledge as well.

If you want to swap any of those things to STi, you have to swap ALL things, turbo, intercooler, intake manifold+throttle body etc. But the swap is possible, seen many on the US forums.

The turbo doesn't "bend up" 90^o, just the outlet is vertical with a horizontal flange that bolts directly to the intercooler.

And yes, electronic throttle tucked under the manifold.
