new fluids

well, we finally did our first fluids change in the new b4 last night before going down to meet the folks at macca's last night, what a difference. we replaced the crappy repco filter with a good AMSOIL one and did an AMSOIL engine flush and put in some really good fluid, we immediatly notice a change, it idled better and smoother and the gear box shifts like melted butter, we were both quite pleasently suprised, we expected a difference but not one quite so dramatic.

can wait to get it on the open road tonight for the trip to New Plymouth. ;D ;D ;D

lol ya know as I was writing this I thought it sounded a lot like that, but I am not, we just love the stuff but the change was so dramatic I had to say so here, we were quite blown away. the clutch was done just not too long ago but we still felt an improvement, but the engine idle and smoothness now was quite amazing after the flush and new oil.

there are SO many different feelings about what to use and what not to use, we could talk about it from not till the sun goes supernova, and I respect other opinions and feeling, I was just passing on ours :D

we can get the stuff for sure, I think at a 40% discount which we can pass on (we dont make a penny, and it get shipped right to you, or even maybe you can even call the guy and say we sent you and he will offer the samething to you), we buy a lot of the stuff, we have 5 cars so the real AMSOIL sales guy loves us lol

this is our last shipment of 6 boxes lol lol

its not cheap but if you love your baby and I do, I only feed him the best IHMO

having said that all you need to do is google AMSOIL test results and you can see for your self

That's the sort of improvement to be expected by any new-for-old fluid change.

:D

Did you change the transmission fluid too ?

thats very true, we did not expect it to be do dramatic, maybe the fluid that was in there was so bad......

yes we did, we did not do the rear diff, will do that change and a coolent flush and coolent booster next weekend, we just ran out if time

You really make it sound like the fluid that was already in the car was in a pretty bad state... I would make sure everything else in the car is in good nick to be safe. That and be glad it didn't run a bearing on you! Its amazing how often people thrash their new car on old oil and kill it :(

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
