Ok so basicly im after a list of what i should do next, so far i have a V4 sti with...

Hdi electronic boost controller

VF22

FMIC

Standard ecu

Walbro 500hp fuel pump (not installed... can i install with out new ecu?)

Full exhaust 3" (by memory)

Tial 38mm external wastegate.

So pretty limited upgrades. I want what will get me the best gains at the cheapest... But dont mind saving up either for say a link...

Oh and if i had a link and a tune what is the average gains you get? More than 30kw?

And 1 more question... What is the advantage of a link to a chipped ecu? Will a link deliver more power... Im only wanting about 250-270kw maybe more depending on money etc etc

For 1 you wont get 250-270kw out of the vf22. Max youl get is 230kw or there abouts.

If i was you id go for a link, youl get the best power possible out of that setup in the safest way, youl get rid of your AFM which is prone to problems as we all know. I personally wouldnt run a chipped ecu on something like a STI.

Link will develop more power and in a safer way plus when you change stuff on the setup its easy to retune it to suit.

Factory ecu you might be around 170-180kw at the wheels and with a link you should get 220-230kw or there abouts.

Plugin G4 retail for about $1700-1800, then you need a airtemp sensor which is around $150, road tune if its not going straight on a dyno which can be $300 odd. Then dyno tune can be anywhere from $500- $9696959 depending on how many problems they have.

Link will make it safe for what ever mods you do if you get it retuned accordingly.

You can probably twist it and flip it but as seen in another thread AFM can have a bit of a hissy fit if your running the factory ecu and make it idle ruff etc.

OK and the difference between a g3 and a g4?

Im not real keen on a dyno aye... Been told they can do some serious damage to your car?

haha the dyno damages your car? its the driver that fucks it up.....

no mechanical sympathy is the demise of most subarus on this forum to be honest.

The dyno will mean you get a safe tune, if the tuner knows what hes doing i doubt its any worse than you sitting on redline in 5th gear thrashing the tits off it caues that sure aint good for it either.

'If you want good power nad it to be done properly put it on a dyno otherwise dont bother.

install the fuel pump it will not effect the tune.

The most cost effective upgrades is ecu and injectors. That will get you arround 230kw.

Standard engine ? How many km's

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
