Down pipes

Just had a Rage 2.5"inch down pipe installed on my V3 WRX wagon. Made a big difference ;D

Recommend doing this asap if you haven't done it already, release's a lot of hidden power that's been robbed by the factory system

For anyone interested my setup is:

2.5" down pipe to 3" exhaust system from down pipe back

Up'd boost to 12psi

Do you get pull up at WOF station for exceesive noise? I got same sort of set up and apparently it's too loud so i have shop around to get WOFs. A bit of a pain

Yeah agree that down pipe makes mine go heaps better as well

hay man did you go to there store to get the down pipe or buy it offline?

anyone in chch can goto japrace spears (and safe R exhausts for any exhaust work-really good guy there highly recommended)

I did this mod recently an its made my cars NUTS like compared to what it was before hand it was just awesome to drive with the new pipe

unfortunately i've since done something to my waste gate an haven't had a chance to really test it out

guy at shop reckoned 20hp gains + which is probably around about right but its the way the car pulls that will surprise you

highly recommend this CHEAP mod to gain power but you will need to leave midpipe cat in for wof just so ya know, I didn't and it gave my car a crap farty sound which I got pinged for at wof, since then spent 150$ an got a resonator put in an a baffled tip-car is now barely noticeable when you drive past but still has performance equal to the catless setup

You can go into autobend and buy the pipe, cheaper to buy from other stores tho. I got mine 2nd hand off trademe.

My system has two 3"inch resonators to help keep the volume down. But I also have a bolt on silencer that reduces the exhaust tip to 1.5"inch, which brings the noise down to almost factory level. - I only use the silencer for WOF's.
