Clutch issues

Since the new engine has been put in the clutch cylinder has been removed and bled but still has a fair but oF sponginess and gets stuck almost to the floor when shifting at high rpm. What could cause this?

possible old contaminants in master cylinder have damaged the seal when inital bleeding occoured (i have seen a few master cylinders fail during bleeding) scale in old fluid even being pushed back up into & past seal can do this & that the seal travels further than when in use,

spongy ness is usually trapt air even the rubber hose excessive expansion can do this too, sticking piston in slave cyclinder too,

thare may be a couple of others i've missed, if you had a shop do this go back & have it rectified & or diagnosed, i'm sure they wouldnt make a fuss about it.

other than that

clamp off the rubber hose & try the clutch pedal should be firm as, maybe up for recon or new master/slave cylinder

External fork spring has been left off !

where does this spring mount on the fork and where else?

Ohh never had one haha is it just the gtbs that have got one?

thanks for the heads up. i'm doing a manual conversion and was going to ignore this. saved me some trial&error

All manual Subaru with "Pull clutch" must have this spring fitted

Either order genuine or try wreckers

Or modify a tension spring to suit
