BP Legacy's

Hi all.

Have a mate heading over to Japan on sunday who is going to import a a BP legacy for me. Does anyone here own a BP? I've heard they are alot better than the old BH series.

Above the stereo there is a computer, being imported it will be in Japanese... Is there anyway to change it to English?

Is there also anyway to strip the factory head unit to put your own one in? They look like they are designed to stay in and not be removed.

No way to change the NAV to english. You can get the non NAV model pocket to put in there.

I have a BL and a BP.

To replace the stereo you need to get the panel kit which includes the A/C controls. It costs about $500 to source in new zealand so try and get one with the car.

BP/BL shares the same architecture (to an extent) with the BH/BE i.e. suspension components...

ok. is there anyway to get an aux plug from the factory radio? somewhere at the back or something?

I believe 2006+ has an aux in.

Don't think the pre facelift has an aux in. I have seen an iPod adaptor for it on trademe though.

Have a NZ new 2007 BP facelift which has an AUX plug in the centre storage box between the front seats. Also has a secondary power outlet next to it. The headunit is the McIntosh one that's integrated with the HVAC and it has a AUX button to switch over. I can't quite remember but I have an impression that the Winger salesman told me the AUX plug was an option so would assume that if there's an AUX button on the headunit then there would be a connection out the back for a AUX plug.

The only way I found to sort the jap nav unit was to import an english one from an aussie wrecker.

Never actually ended up doing it myself, but they are the same units so would plug straight in.
