uniden alarm not beeping

hi guys,

have had an alarm for bout 2 months and lately the nosie has been gone from the alarm, when i arm/disarm it.. you know the 'woop woop' anyways my mate came around and he got the same alarm with the same problem, i looked around the siren/under dash for loose wire and no the trick of pressing the other button etc but no luck, has anyone else had similar problems or know of the cure?

Follow the wire from the siren and go backwards from there; check everywhere. See if it's melted on anything or caught on anything. Otherwise send it back, Uniden alarms have a 1 year warranty if you put it in yourself or 5 years if NZSA installed.

oh cool, prolly don't have the reciept tho, yeah i havealook in the daylight, ma mate who owns a performance/painting type shop did it, i'll take it back and see what he says, thought it mite be an easy fix

is the siren working when the alarm goes off?

generally they sufffer from water damage when mounted in location subject to water getting in - easiest way to check is to pull out siren and hook up to the battery - most of them aren't battery backup ones so it's only two wires

Cheers, just another thing to try, its odd, both me and my mate have same problem and both seem to be going sporadically, mine has totally died now i think tho!

my uniden the indicator flashers stopped working. it was due to the use of low power diodes used in the flasher circuit which had burnt out... that was the only issue i had with mine. it was a VS1600 or something. that was years ago... 4 cars ago

i think there may be a separate fuse for the siren: 5A or 10A it may have 'popped' check the location of the brain unit and the fuses
