Wobbly Crank Pulley

SR18 GTI Pulsar.

Chewed out alt belts etc...Upon inspection the bottom crank pulley has a wobble maybe 5mm or so??

What would be doing this do they have a bearing of some sort in the pulley thats likely to have shit itself???

I am guessing that like most modern cars the crank pulley is rubber mounted for vibration, so either the rubber in it is shot

Or it done a subaru and the crank pully bolt has come loose and it has worn out the crankshaft,key,keyway

Dunno if they're similar to Subaru ones, but have you taken it off and checked the key for wear? If its got a rubber damper in it that could be deteriorated and about to let go.

bah, sounds like lots of effort, oh well will investigate sometime, found a whole heap of little shit wrong, tidying up for little brotehr...grrr why did i offer haha.

hopefully not keyway cause that means toast motor more or less ay

Usually its the key itself that gets toasted not the keyway in the crank. Much easier to replace the key. Not really hard to check, just undo the big nut off the front of it, especially if it's already spat all the belts off.

By key you mean the main bolt?

Might jack up this arvo for a look

By "key" I mean the little half moon shaped Woodruff Key that stops the pulley from rotating on the crank. The bolt just stops it falling off the front.

Right so undo main bolt see how much play is in key if some then we got issues lol

I can bet on if the front pulley has come loose then not only will the key be buggered but both the keyway in the pulley and crank will be toast...
