Hey guys few weeks ago was having boost problems now i seem to have fixed it (i think)

Just wanting to know in 1st, 2nd gear on a stock 2002 v7 wrx what should max boost be?

Ive read through alota google pages and it seems that 7-9 psi (dependent on weather)

is what it should be can anyone confirm.

as my car is runing 7.25 in those gears.

Or anyone got the same car with the same reading as me?

cheers for your help guys.

thats quite low psi for a new subaru?ithought these newr subaurs ran higher boost?

never really had a good look at which gear pulled how much boost..

hence why I said 'iirc'

but the bugeye wrxs peak at around 13-14psi...

STis boost quite a fair bit more..

oh its only a rex.yeh the factory soleniods tend to have boost spike problems meaning itl pull past 14psi but once it peaks the boost wil drop back to whatever.since yours in a v7 that means you got a re tune able ecu or reflash.mayb get that done to set your boost to how you want it,

STI8U you gota tell me more about this?

so basically v7 solenoids = rubbish cool no probs lol :P

But whats with the ecu are the V7's the only model with them? what are they exsactly or what does this mean i can do?

sorry iv always been with turbo silvias never owned a sub before

what he meant was the stock boost solenoid and ecu are setup to drop boost odd in hi rpm

a few ways to get some decent pull is to get a tap and run 14.5-16 max (with a good exhaust) and u will have a lot of gains

i have done a few mates wrx v7s and none had any issues with af ratio or knock when running 15psi with tap and an exhaust

(u can get a electronic boost controller is have deeper pockets but for stock td04L turbo its not much difference)

another option is to get the ecu retuned as the v7 ones are able to get retuned

i have tried both options and frankly $ for $ the first option on a v7wrx seems to have better results and minimal spending

a tap is usually the cheapest option.ebc is the most expensive.

the boost solenoids are a good design but they tend to spike depending on the weather as you say .with a controller yu just set what boost you want and your away.you ecu is re tune able once youv done mods like full exhaust mayb cold air intake heards new turbo ect.the tune is prty much to refresh the ecu of the new mods and to check af ratios and such

if you worried about it etha pay any were between 200 500 for the reflash or mayb spend that money on a good electronic boost controller

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
