WTB - Double din faceplate for BP stereo

Hi... longtime lurker's first post.

I've just added a BP to a Subie stable that already includes a Y2k BH, a '94 GT, and a '97 Imprezza. (A brother has a BP and a BH, and Mum drives a late Imprezza, so we're a true Subie family).

Using advice gleaned off this site, I successfully swapped out the stock stereo in the BH for one on special from Repco. I'd like to do the same again with the BP, but am aware of the extra cost that'll be involved by having to find myself one of the double-din cutouts to take the place of the stock stereo / AC combo.

I'm keeping a watch in all the usual places - but if anyone stumbles over one somewhere please I'd sure appreciate a heads-up. I'm aware they sometimes pop up on Trademe for a reasonable amount - or worst comes to worst I'll order one from Japan.

Great site you have here... I've learned heaps searching these forums, and even been able to swap out my own rocker cover seals without difficulty.

Have you considered one of these? I have just installed one in my BP, quality is great, far easier to install, and a fraction of the cost of the double din panel pack.

Thanks for that... I've seen them on that site previously, and they're a good alternate option if I can't find the cutout at a reasonable cost.

See other thread. Ed's Auto in Aucks can get them, but you're looking at around $650. Ocassionally they pop up on trademe for ~$250.

I'm familiar with that thread thanks. Purchase from avoJDM parts directly is currently cheaper at around $500, but their site has a disclaimer about delays due to the quake & tsunami.

I'd much rather see one popup on TM for half that price - and by posting here I'm hoping that if I miss seeing one there myself - that someone will give me a heads-up.
