Replacing Steering Wheel

Does anyone know if the 4 spoke Momo steering wheel (the one with the airbag) from a '99 WRX will fit a '92 Legacy? The Legacy doesn't have an airbag and I don't intend to even try getting the airbag in the new wheel it work....if it fits.

not to sure on the spline but just check that removing all notices that there is an air bag could well ruin the wheel and as such may not be worth putting on.

that wil be illegal. y would you want a bulky airbag wheel anyway??? i have a sti nardi wheel for you for 20 bux plus postage.. its allgood too.

Illegal to fit an airbag steering wheel (with the airbag disabled) in a car that came with no airbag?

Is the Nardi the 3 spoke out of the older STi's (pre '98-99)?

yes... if the vehicle has an airbag fitted it must be in working order etc etc... ah yes it is a early wrx one... pm me if interested

Thanks but no thanks. I like the big Momo 4 spoke but if it's illegal to fit it then I won't bother changing the wheel at all.

Yeah i'm pretty sure it has to get certified and stuff?

You should get a cool bling bling one like mine.. it lights up and tells me when to change gear. LOL

yeah im pretty sure they wont even cert it as static electricity could set the bag off.

What about if the airbag is removed from the steering wheel?

yeah possibly but then your wheel will have a haggard soft spot in it... and you will have to take wheel off to prove theres no bag in it? just my view.... could be wrong but id fail it....

NOPE !! Stactic wont set it off, unless you are some how going to feed this static charge into the airbag wiring connector
