96 v2 sti boost problem

hey all, as title states im having boost problems, used the search to try find out some info but everyone seems to have the opposite problem to what i am.

Whats happening is sometimes its only boosting up to 7 psi, and then will go back to normal. Its happening at random times so im guessing it doesnt have anything to do with getting to hot etc.

So far im guessing that its the boost solonoid playin up since wastegate accuator has 7 psi spring (?) have put it in diag and i can hear and feel it clicking everytime and its not bringing up any codes, so im thinking that instead of it bleeding off air its getting stuck open, anyone else had anything like this happen? have been told that wen the solonoid shits itself that they free boost

what do you mean you put it in diag? I'm having the same problem with mine, only got wastegate pressure, im suspecting its the boost controller. but is there an easy way to check it? other than hooking up an LED to it etc.

my one used to make clicking sounds when I plugged in the plugs under dash, dunno if that helps lol but told me it was working fine.

At a guess id check for boost leaks. even a little hole or something not tightened up right could be the problem.When ever I messed with my old brittle pipes I would get boost leaks so make sure its all nice an tight an nothing on a funny angle or cracked ect

it's not a boost leak, I got it up to 16psi on a boost tap controller so i don't think that's the problem. not to mention I just installed a new turbo and put the intercooler back in etc

two fault codes 24 (idle control valve) and 45 (pressure sensor/pressure exchange solenoid)

The car idles really and runs well so was surprised by this one.

as for 45 has anyone had this one before? which one did it turn out being?

Ok so I managed to fix everything.

From what I've figured out is. The vf24 compressor outlet for the boost control is quite a bit smaller than the td05 and such I had to get bigger vacuum hose to fit it. as a result (this is what I assume feel free to correct me) the factory boost controller could not handle so much flow through it. I managed to get a small restriction (A small straight through joiner for vac hose) to go in the compressor outlet hose. Now the car boosts 16psi and what a huge difference from 8psi. So happy with that

As for the fault codes I realized the ecu would have logged them when we unplugged a vac hose while it was running.

So clear the faults and its as good as new.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
