O2 Sensor Placement??

O2 Sensor Placement

I'm installing some aftermarket extractors which have different location to put the 02 sensor in when i actually get around to getting a new one. Is there any guidelines around where it should be installed? I have been doing some research on the matter and am a little confused but it all.

Just a few quick question

1. O2 give the information to the ECU to adjust the A/F ratio right? Is there any guidelines in regards to operation temps/ ability etc for O2?

2. Old extractor (BC/BF) has the 02 sensor on the pressure side before the turbo?. I have seen later version with it only on the downpipe?(is this correct) is that the case with all later Subaru's and why?

3. Being that my current placement is on the pressure side, does anyone know the affect of moving it to the down-pipe?

At the end of the day I'm probably looking at installing a Link ECU so probably not a massive big issue if that is the case

post turbo is safer, incase the sensor falls apart

temps for O2 shouldnt exceed 900deg at the body or 1300deg at tip as a guideline from Inovate

Thank you for that.

So having the O2 on the pressure side (pre turbo) and post turbo isn't going to effect the sensor ability to give an accurate reading?

i have changed from pre turbo to after turbo with no negative side effects just have a spark plug as a bung for the old port
