Changing the intake piping

Looking at putting one of these in...

As far as i know you have to remove the intake manifold to change them over... is this correct?

And what about tuning? will this effect my tune at all?

put up a how to or jus some pics was gona do this mod but its in the cant be fucked pile at the moment

Yea i will.... just need someone to answer my questions above first..... Im going to do a few more bits and pieces at the same time... like radiator hoses a new vacuum hose through out.... Should look a bit tidier too.... ;D

Yeh you'll have to take the manifold out, and the rails etc that are attached

Thought so.... What about my tune? Im running a powerFC at the moment.... Dont want it to start tripin balls when i change the intake!

that's the exact one i run . i run it on standard STI ecu with great results. i would think you may need re tune ar more air will be going in. yeah pull manifold off then once that off remove the rails . the intake is much much larger than stock so is a Cunt to get manifold back on. really worth it though

Sweet i mite aswell get them to do it when i put the new vf30 on... And go in for a touch up to the tune afterwards... Dont want it leaning out and melting shit with that little bit more flow.. Im just wondering if i should do something about the injectors too... Just dont know what. Got standard v4 yellows at the moment... But they pretty much maxed...

vf30 currently.... seals fuckt i think... So ive got a better condition one coming up from wellington soon.... Ive got dyno sheets which say 227kw atw on a hub dyno at ST HITEC. But at the recent torque performance dyno day i only hit 198kw atw..

Aww yeah i remember you had the white wrx ? the vf30 doesn't even hold high boost better than Vf23 aye ? sucks ha ha

Yea the white coupe... I mite aswell ditch the vf30 then... I was running 21.5psi through it and it tapered off to about 19 or so i think

yeah i was running 19.8 Pound peak and tapered to 18 at red line. on the road 4th holds to red line though. i have hks evc and tial 38mm gate . i want to hold it till red line aye .

Yea im running 38mm genuine tial gate and a new hks evc and it still tapered off.... im guessing thats just the vf30 being a dick lol

yeah i changed my gate from picking up off the manifold at the collector which is how it was screaming at dyno day to picking up right under the turbo flange and plumbing in and same boost curve nothing changed aye . . . . wondering if headers would hold better ?

Ive got aftermarket semi tuned headers.. Just ordered some heat wrap so i can wrap the headers and downpipe and a few other bits and pieces...

Thats the only thing i can think of.... Is there anything which can be done to a vf30 to flow a bit more?? as im going to have 2 of them shortly....

make sure you cable tie ALL new hoses

Steve murch can modify them . guess that will hold boost better

Sounds like its guna be pumping . Murch does nice TD series turbos for subbys! cud do your VF but its not BB ither so Id go with a moded TD05H if you ask me. People might say otherwise but thats my input :
