V1/2 ecu question

Ive done a quick search but cant seem to find the answer im looking for so hopefully someone can give me a definite answer.

If replacing a 4plug ecu can you put one out of a manual car into an auto & vice verser without any hassles? Or does the auto have extra wires?

the auto has its own ecu . . in most cases the difference between the auto and manual ecu is the auto runs richer than a manual ecu through gear changes . . so running a auto ecu on a manual you get rev flare during gear changes . . . at a guess i would say timing would also be different . . . . in short run a manual ecu on a manual and a auto ecu on a auto

i think you should just try it. its the loom thats different and tells the ecu if the car is AT or MT. in most cases the AT ecu is detuned. i'm not entirely sure what the AT/MT select on the ecu does, but i believe its idle behaviour changes in neutral, or depending on the information from the TCU (i know gen2 has a few links between ecu and tcu)

the ecu arrived today. Its one of the 200 sti chipped ecus (SA 00070). Plugged in & taken car for test drive. Probably the cheapest & easiest upgrade ive ever made!!!

The only noticeable "issues" I can tell so far between the MT/AT ecu is:

The Power button doesnt seem to work anymore.

It does idle slightly higher in neutral but only margainly.

If i notice anything else ill post it up but otherwise I very happy with the inital results.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
