hey guys, i have random surge/backfire problem at 4500rpm,

went to speedtech and picked a few other brains about it they all said to try the air flow meter,

anyone keen to help me test this theory out this weekend lol?

early wrx afm or early legacy single turbo

if the theory fails then i have to pay speedtech lol

i had the exact problem not so long ago ill try find the thread for you . but it was spark plugs n 1 coil was f'd real bad

i've done plugs, checked everywhere for leaks, couldnt find any,

coills seem fine would anyone know how you test them lol?

yeah my afms orange

i thought if your afm was toast id be getting check engine code?

Most of the time you will, however you do own a Subaru and some things just can't be explained.

For the coils you are looking for and cracks in them and that they are a nice fit and making good contact with the spark plug. You can also test them using a multimeter but i can't remember how just at this point in time.

try some air fow meter cleaner man see if it helps.i kinda have the same problem.plugs are all brand new and coils and leads are sweet.

the only thing i can pt it down to is etha the atmo blow off valve or the air flow meter.

it doesnt have any codes pulled or nething like that,but after i use afm cleaner it seems to go abot for 300ks and then itl be back again,its not reall bad but you can tell it has surging issues.also mines only 10 00ks off rebuild aswell.

haha i looked at my afm, having never built a subaru before it seems that i have an early tt one (blue)

i take it the wrong afm can cause a surge aswell?

how much for your one sl8r?

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
