A rehashed question (sorry)

Recommended Posts

so sorry to rehash an old topic BUT wat is the actual difference in kw and torque between the v8 v9 and v10

and the upgraded console has round dials I believe on the v9 not the old school black knobs?

oh also I saw a v8 or v9 on that bestmotoring show thats on youtube in Japan and they reakon they could do a mid to hi 12 second pass (400m).... seems pretty fast seeing as my stock evo 7 did a 13.7...thoughts on that? I will admit I am obviously not a pro driver!

not sure about the differences but in response to your evo doin a 13 I took my mates evo 6.5 down the quarter in oz before wsid at eastern creek only had a 3 inch exhaust from the turbo back and managed a 13.01 and then backed it up with a 12.96 but Im sure the evo 7 had 100kgs on it depends on the conditions at hand and the cars another mate on the same night with the same car but no exhaust only managed a 13.2

V8 STi is a V7 STi with exterior facelift, Thunderbird 2 rear wing, V7 RA Spec C cams and twin scroll headers + VF37, hypereutectic alloy (rather than forged) pistons, new (and still ugly) steering wheel, softer wider seats.

V9 STi is a V8 STi with new stronger 5x114 hubs, wider rims, Spec C front suspension arms and geometry changes, facelifted interior (round knobs not stalks), yaw sensing diff setup.

IMHO the one to get is a V8 STi Spec C if you want a blobeye. I wouldn't go for a plain V8 STi, as the V7 RA Spec C is a much better car from a performance standpoint (and you get used to the bugeye!). If you're not prepared to live with a Spec C and want more comfort/amenities, then I'd agree that for a bit more money the V9 STi is the way to go.

v8 394Nm

v9 412Nm

v10 392Nm (2.5L) 422Nm (2.0L JDM)

All officially had 206kw but seem to dyno from 175-190kw atw in stock form.

You can expect anything from a 13-13.5 1/4 mile from a V8/9/10 sti in stock form

well thank you very much, I actually own a v9 sti but I was just unclear on all the information as it is very conflicting, been a great help! thanks

No worries bro, also I wouldn't worry about breaking it too much. The 6 speeds are pretty dam tough. One run will not be TOO bad

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
