Brake Lines for Subaru 4 Pots on a B4

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I've been looking for some info on brake lines to help me swap out the original front two pot callipers on my 98 B4 for the wrx/sti 4 pots (non-brembo).

The two pots have a simple banjo bolt with protrusions on the calliper to hold the banjo still while fastening it. The 4 pots have a different method where the banjo is held fast by a hook. also the bolt hole of the banjo appears to be of different diameters.

Can some one tell me what brake lines (preferably including part no.s ;D ) will suffice? I have been looking at braided lines but haven't seen anything to confirm what i require (also is there any difference in brake line length between an imprezza and a legacy?).

Thanks

Jono

Ok will do, any suggestion as for keeping the hoses captive, as the original brake lines have tab with a hole to bolt to the strut whereas the original hoses on the 4 pots (as well as a big slice in one of them) only have a groove in a crimped metal connector which looks similar to the restraint type on the chassis, except my strut (factory bilsteins) does not seem able to accomodate this... quite frustrating. I was contemplating going down to the local sheet metal workshop and fabricating something myself but I have a thing for factory items...

Bobbyjimmy, you were right just done the swap today. Thanks :)

The original lines on the calipers had a different size bolt head (for the banjo) and that made me think that the bolt was going to be a different diameter. Also the hook on the banjo bolt of the 4 pots i was thinking would be a WOF requirement. According to Safe-R-Brakes it's not (I think i'll trust them).

Thanks for the help guys. will keep my eye out for some braided lines next.

yeah i also went from 2 pots to 4 pots a while back . used same hoses . my 4 pots came with the banjo bolts so i used them as maybe the restrictor holes are different sizes? ? the 2 pot calipers did hold the hose in a certain direction . . the 4 pots don't how ever . . . doesn't effect it though

you notice some better braking power?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
