Buying a car - Subaru Impreza 2004 !

Hey guy's just went to see a car...It was a Subaru Impreza 2004 .. 1500cc .. Automatic.(Wagon)

Told the guy i'll keep intouch with him.

Just wondering whether it's worth doing an AA check on the car before i buy it.

I checked the exterior and everything was fine...No scratches,dent's etc.

Just checked the AA web-site and for member's its 147$ for a pre-purchase inspection.

Basically it's the first non-modified car i have bought.

Just buying it as a run around,plus it look's good

So is it really worth doing an AA check before i purchase the car?

Please feel free to share some advice guys.Would be really appreciated.

if your keen on the car $147 isn't much for piece of mind, at least if anything bad pops up you could negotiate the price down abit to cover the cost of getting whatever is wrong fixed

Your right,at least it will give me peace of mind.I am not too sure whether the 147$ cover's mobile costs..As i will need the AA guy to go and check the car at the premesis of the seller ... So yeah .. would you happen to know whether it's inclusive of that or? Cheers.

not sure sorry, probably best to call AA in the morning and find out , im sure you should be able to work out something with the seller, you book it in for a time that suits them and you pay for it at your AA nominated inspection place.... if its all thats standing between you buying it and them selling their car then im sure they will be fine with that

They often find small things that need fixing so pays for it self most times. When i bought my car they found rear brake pads worn and small exhaust leak. It was fixed by seller, saving me the cost of repairs which would have cost similar to AA check.

Id would also push for getting the test done at the AA centre rather than mobile as they dont have access to hoist etc when doing mobile.. Cheaper at the centre too.

try sublab if theres one around, they have a huge list of shit they check so can be sure its good, not sure of price tho, i have had aa and vtnz reports come back before which turned out to be bull, so dont get to hung up over them
