Sensor on gc8

Does any one know what this sensor is for:

its under the manifold, under the ICV on a version 3 sti RA. Under here:

It has two hoses going to it. One from the manifold and one from the PCV valve and on electrical plug. The bit that the hose goes onto has snapped of when I was looking for a boost leak. The plastic looks like it has just deteriorated.

Same thing happened to me, I just glued and taped it up!

so you ran your boost gauge hose to that green thing? i tried to glue the bit that broke off but it snapped into 5 peices haha.

its for the charcoal canister from my research when doing my conversion . an un needed sensor that will not be causing your issues

if its broken from the manifold, just block the hose off... should be ok

purge control solenoid actually ;D

its part of the carbon canister setup which gets rid of the fuel vapour from the vent for the fuel tank and lets the inlet manifold suck the vapour in and burn it off. Its an emission control thing

if you remove it make sure you plug the hoses properly, one leads to the inlet manifold and will cause a vacuum leak, I've got one here if you'd rather replace it, let me know your address and i'll post it when I get a chance
