Stereo loosing power momentarily while cranking

Does anyone know if there is a way to stop the radio turn off momentarily when you crank the car ?

Everytime I turn my keys to ON, then crank the car the radio will shut off then switch back on again. And the gauges will annoyingly do the ceremony again,,

Car is V7 STi. Is this suppose to do this, and is there any way of stopping it from going off during cranking ?

Yeah I thought so, my previous cars didnt do it I dont think,,,, Is there any way to keep the power ?

It's designed to cut acc power when key in start position. There is a way to keep it on but you need diodes and a bit of electronic knowledge and I say its not worth it.

Also, as the car battery gets older (or other effects contribute to poor battery performance), it helps conserve power so the car can start... etc

yip there are two acc/ign feeds, one cuts when you crank the car, the other doesn't. the power to the ecu, for example does not.

Aha, so might be worth finding from the fuse box which one doesnt cutout during cranking and pull the wire from there to the gauge.

You might say Im picky but the gauges turning on , then turning off again, then turning on again bugs me lol.

Ill tut the 12v tester to the various fuses and see which one will work for me.

from rewiring my ignition in the track car (95 ra) its the key switch itself that stops the acc power, i've commoned up the acc and ign powers and have a push button start, nothing drops out when cranking now.... and now i have nothing that i use anyway in that car.

so you could rewire the ignition to stop the acc power being cut during cranking, it MAY be different in a newer car.
