another obd 2 question

have got the obd2 cable and having problems

have downloaded form a little mini cd that i was given and can get to a certain part and no further.

can any body help

its called the easy obd2 version 2.2 or 2.4 brought from trademe

program goes thew checks first to connect mine gets up to vehicle online/offline and it wont go any further cause it says the car is offline but it has already found the car and said that it has picked something up.

can somwone please help otherwise either my computer or my plastic under dash or door card is going to get dented cause it is doing my head in

is your car a revision d? what software you using to communicate?

its a revision b and i have tried to use the obd2 software that came with the cord and also have tried to use ecuexplorer

rev b..... i'm asssuming its around the year 2000 then? unfortunately... it won't work.... i have a revision c forrester and it wont talk either.... only rev d and newer i believe....

however!!!!! keep the cable, having one around is damn useful.

oh, and get hold of a very early revision of ecu explorer. version 1.28 i think... the newer ones check for a tactrix cable and shut down if you don't use one, whereas the older versions work regardless.
