Legacy front suspension WEIRD noise

Hey Guys,

So I have an 02 Legacy GT30 and the front left suspension is making weird noises when i go over large bumps (speed bumps, driveways etc). I only notice the noise at slow speeds. It started happening about half way through the ski season (I went up to mt hutt and club fields alot that have shit roads).

Could it be a suspension bush or something? What would you guys recommend first to troubleshoot?

Ohh, and the noise is hard to describe but kinda sounds like an creaky door opening.

Mine has a bit more vintage but does the same thing by the sounds of it, only when its wet though... Have had shocks and all sorts of strut and suspension bushes replaced yet it persists

loose hub nut is what was causing mine .

Just took my wheel off and had a look at the hub nut. It does not seem to be loose.

What suspention? top hat clunk is really common, failed many a cert on it

Its got yellow bilstein shocks. I think its the same as the BH GTBs.

this was also the case with mine and i took mine to 3 different mechanics. the first 2 said what you just said . the 3rd got me to take him for a drive and within 100mtrs he had diagnosed what it was. he tightened it up the following day and the sound has gone and so far never returned . its surprising how much .29 of a mm can create so much noise.
