BOV on AT TT B4.

Hey guys, Hopefully not to much of an obvious question here but been talking to mates about BOVs lately and looking at installing on on my TT B4.

My question is this;

Will the BOV do a full release such as " pppssstttsssshhhh " or since the AT changes gear so fast and resumes the spool up allot faster than a manual would it result in only a " ptssh "

the bov dosent open as the throttle isnt closed for manifold vacuum to put pressure on other side of diaphragm.....

They don't 'pssshh' because with an auto, the throttle doesn't close when you change gear. It'll only 'blow off' when you lift off the accelerator.

IMHO, get a manual

It will only trigger when there is a reasonable drop in pressure in the Intake Manifold (example; 5psi -> -10inHG), usually when you lift off the throttle after being on it a deceint amount and the throttle body closes.

The AT doesn't close the throttle body on the TT B4's because it's got a cable throttle, you'd probably find with regular driving it will never go off, unless you tend to plant boot everywhere and lift off quite a bit. In that case you're likely to get a nice "Pshhhhhht".

I would love to get a manual eventually but as is this is my first car I'm not complaining as of yet. Manual is a deff for the next one but at the price I got this one for I can't really complain that its auto.
