1997 WRX no go

Hi all, a mate of mine owns a 97 WRX hatch that decided on Xmas day to give up the ghost, which means it also bit into my celebration drinks as I had to go tow him home, any way the car developed a surge when it came on boost, was fine when just cruising but as soon as he got on the gas to overtake etc etc it would cough and splutter like it was out of gas. My mate thought that maybe his fuel gauge wasn't reading right so he stopped at the fuel shop and filled up (with 95) payed for it then went to hop in his car to leave and it wouldn't start. It wound over like it wanted to start but wouldn't fire. When I arrived I checked the CEL and it came up with code 31 which I think is the TPS sensor. Does this sound right? Car was mechanically fine and he had never experienced this problem before and was only doing it for around 10 mins before he stopped to fill it up, also car had just had full service so was deemed to be in good nick, he also rang the shop which had carried out the service and the mechanic seems to think that the TPS wouldn't be the cause of the stoppage, any ideas are greatly appreciated

I'd check not only the fuel pump,but the entire fuel system,lines,filters,relays,pump-the lot.

When a car throws a fault code for a certain sensor-like the TPS-It pays again to not only check that sensor,but the wiring to and from that sensor,plugs etc.

Same deal with the AFM/Intake.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
