Anyone know where I can get a hold of a Viscous coupler for my Legacy?

Hi there fullas.

Does anyone know where I can find a viscous coupler for my Legacy?. She's started binding up, and done all the checks and to my horror the VC is rooted. I can't find one anywhere, I've asked everywhere in Wellington that's on the web, all saying I would have to replace the entire centre diff. Heaps of people have told me that just replacing the VC will be enough to fix it, but I can't *&%$( find one.

Can anyone help me rescue my legacy from a horrible slow death please??.

most likely as it is part of the gearbox most dismantlers wont split the box

These things are becoming thin on the ground, i personally wouldnt fit a second hand one, it seems a matter of when they fail rather than if......

Agreed, fit an older model rear housing & center diff

Another thought - why do we not see as many threads coming from wrx & Sti drivers?

kms still not high enough? or are the legacy's weight causing the issue?

Cetre diff and vicous coupling are the same unit that you replace

Thats a good point, it seems the BH/BE's are by far the worst, two got put in at work this week alone, Does a longer wheel base make for a greater differential in front and rear wheel speed on turns

Yea i dunno, guess a 2nd hand low kms wrx/sti one would be alright (for a while)

What do you do to fix them at work? new one, 2nd hand or recon?
