Code 66 is the general error code for anything to do with the sequential turbo system. The cutting out at 4000 rpm is the 'limp home' mode, reset the ecu should clear this up, until you get the 66 error back again that is. And yes it is a bitch to find and fix. Good Luck ;D

Welcome to sunny Dunedin!, well in my rs i hit check lite leaving Dunedin drove thru to Chch (couldn't get to any wreckers to buy AFM - Which was my prob) prolly did 500ks with no major hassles, had to keep it under 4000 rpm the whole way which ment FA passing etc, the engine is still going now (over two years ago) so guess there is no major damage done,

However this may not be the case with code 66 on TT setup

most 66's are caused by failure of secondary BOV, they develop a vac leak internally (this triggers CEL when the vac tank empties out when under load) ie no engine vac

Primary BOV failure will also cause this code, and the car will only have a small amount of boost (4-5 psi normally)

Primary turbo wastegate seizing is another primary cause for 66

Some other items you need to check

Vac tank - is it still there or has some pannel beater thrown it away

Hose to vac tank - check it for leaks, often is damaged in small frontal impacts

Good luck -- The secrets are out

For every car this fixes please send me $1,000,000.00 in cash :)

NO ....10 and 23 are waste gate solenoid hoses

The vac tank is located in the same area (Inside L/F guard) but the hose comes from the

TT control black box (R/H strut tower) around the front bumper iron to the vac tank

if you blow in and out on the piece where the small hose is attached to the primary BOV should you hear i small popping noise? is that normal or is it stuffed?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
