Considering maybe getting a Forester to replace Daily

Ive been thinking I may eventually replace my Legacy with a Forester.

Im only really interested in a NA manual Ho/Low ratio versons.

Looking at a 2003-04 shape one. Mite consider earlyer shape as well.

Ive never driven one and Dont really know any one with one.

So I really dont know about them.

I have a few questions.

What the fuel eccommy like?

How does the storage in the back compair to the likes of a 1990 Legacy?

Is the back cargo storage area wider the 90 Legacy?

What tends to go wrong?

Whats the max you can Tow behind one?

What do they handle like?

Unsure if it helps with the N/A version but my 1997 2.0 turbo Auto tows our lazercraft 620 boat with not too much trouble... Just gotta take it easy around corners as with all towing i guess.

Space in the back is good, should be fairly similar to you legacy but possibly not quite as deep (from boot to back seats). With one back seat down i fit 3 large snowboard bags plus 3-4 other bags with plenty of visibility over them in the rear-view mirror still. That's including a boxed 10 inch sub as well so i have no complaints about space

it'll corner better than a leggy with a little bit of tweaking... i love it. just pulled 600km off a tank long distance in my s/tb, giving it hell through the parapara highway auckland to palmy. i average 450-500 around town. i have had nothing go wrong in the 60k i've had her for....

we had a 2000 forester td04 turbo was really good on gas. 600-750km on a tank open road and city driving not slow either...
