wireing advice / help any one? RS BC5

sooo i pulled my dash appart..... the wireing loom looks rough i seen there and been a wire joint in between two plugs and its cut now cut ?? could anybody tell me what it is was used for as im still trying to sus out why its cutting while on boost? also the computer hasent been put in propally it is hanging down by the peddals, does it need to be bolted in to act as a earth or sumthing and where should it be located.... any help people?

Your cutting on boost is the ecu hitting the boost safety cutout.

Its 15psi..

Only options are to run an cu with a higher boost limit or. Hip your current ecu... Look on TM they pop up for around the hundy mark..

Sometimes you can boost very close to that in lower gears and it will only get to the cut threshold in 4th and 5th...

If the car is running rught apart from the boost cut dont worry about the wire..

It could be for a function used on another model.

the car idols and revs alright, i hit up the old owner he said its some thing to do with the wireing, he said he was raceing a wrx up to speed cut and kept it going at 180 and fryed the alternator, scince then its had trouble with the cut, that was with the v5 ecu should i try the legacy b3 ecu?

I reckon you turn the boost down to 12 and see what happens..

Then come back to us....

Okay.. So your boost solinoid is not plumbed in?

What turbo are you running?

Alright. Take a hose from the pressure side of your turbo and pipe it dirctly to your wastegate actuator...

Then take it for a drive and tell us what boost you get and how it runs.

sorry just learning bwt this stuff , got one frm the solinoid to the turbo and another one from the bottom ov the solinoid to the actuator, im running a tdo5h,

Ah... I think this could be part of your problem...

The rs compter will have trouble controlling the boost on a td05..

You need to do the wastegate thing i descrIbed to you and tell us how she goes..

thanks mad mike! i finally pikkd up my nuts and took the rs out for a boost (as its been pink stickerd about 4 or 5 times and is a moveing gold target out in upper hutt) , its now boosting 8psi, but im glad to say its running the best ive ever had it running, is it safe to leave it like that??

It'll be fine running at straight wastegate pressure. Now just make it road legal so you can drive it whenever you want!

Yeah mate leave it at wastegate pressure for now....

It will still go pretty well..

Get it legal then go buy either a mod chip designed to control a TD05 or fit a external boost controller..

haha shot guys fu**kn rapt as now only need front indercators and handbrake shoes, then just a handful of interrior parts.. haha cant wait!
