so

new fuel pump, and plugs helped, but it wasnt the fix.

Found that boost control solenoid was wrong. Guy in ashvegas installed a 16102AA360, but it should be a 16102aa160.

Dont suppose anyone has a known working 160 they could lend me and ill buy if it works?

tried a tap, that eliminated the flatspot, but, hit boost cut, cause as it was explained to me, taps will spike in higher gears and there shit.

Either that or anyone got an electronic boost controller for sale?

Taps work if theyre not faulty and if theyre set up correctly. Just sold an ebc the day I listed it on here... Who confirmed it was the wrong solenoid?

I checked the numbers on each, current one is for a 2005 STI, old one was correct.

Boost was spiking with either though i THINK

That hose is on the blink aways replace the hose with a new one and use a tridon or similar hose clamp.

also checked my oil. checked 1000k ago after it coming back from among other things the tappet gasket replaced was full or very slightly under.

checked it now and it's just above low... where is it going? it doesn't appear to be burning. compression test? no leaks but did notice minimal oil on top of block if you look down left hand side (facing) intercooler.

Dump the old oil out and replace with castrol edge 5w-30 and ryco or genuine oil filter and keep a eye on it. .

also i noticed this spot is oily, hoses look slightly wet, just blow by and shit hoses or something more serious?

so I'm still running an mbc (yes if hijacka is reading get an ebc it's happening but this must be mentioned)

got the mbc set pretty good I reckon but the flat spot is still there. but now it happens from 4000 - 4500 rpm. boost to there boost stops has a quick struggle then pulls again. which leads me to believe....its not the boost controller causing it.

either that or its to do with maf or the fact that the factory boost controller is still plugged in. thoughts people?

only reason I mention it if hijacka is reading is cause it shouldn't happen with the tap
